24 hotels join the German CB.

A few months ago the German Convention Bureau introduced a new chain membership, for hotels with a sliding fee scale, depending on the number of hotels per chain and their size.

With this change the GCB meets the wishes of existing and potential members and offers its members and customers numerous advantages. As chain members, the individual hotels pay lower rates while benefiting from the same excellent GCB services. With this resolution the marketing organisation has increased the number of its members - while maintaining their quality standards - and can now offer event planners a wider portfolio.

Maritim Hotelgesellschaft mbH is the first hotel chain to take advantage of this option: With 24 hotels, Maritim now has a stronger presence in the GCB. "The chain membership enables us to be present in the GCB with several hotels in one location and to showcase the wide range of Maritim products. In Berlin we have two excellent hotels: designer hotel Maritim pro Arte and the new 1920s-style Hotel am Tiergarten, a hotel for outstanding events," says Alfred Diem, Sales Director Germany of Maritim Hotels.

Maritim also contributed to the development of the new chain membership. Diem explains: "Meetings and congresses are our core segment. Hence the GCB is an important platform for us - combined with the DZT and the possibilities of international orientation."

Therefore Maritim will also continue to reinforce its presence in the GCB in future: "Our latest project, Maritim at Düsseldorf Airport with 533 rooms, connected to the terminal and with meeting capacities for up to 2,400 people, will also take advantage of the GCB's chain membership," says the representative of Maritim Hotelgesellschaft mbH, which is also a Preferred Partner of the GCB and helps to boost and expand international meeting business for Germany.
