Kerzner will assume management of the Hospitality Division of Shamwari Private Game Reserve in Eastern Cape, South Africa, owned by Investment Corporation of Dubai, effective 1 April 2026, the reserve is an addition to Kerzner's growing Rare Finds portfolio.

In addition to the reserve's Hospitality Division, Kerzner will also manage the sales Shamwari Air, the property's dedicated private aviation service.

Home to the coveted Big 5, Shamwari marks a powerful new chapter in Kerzner's Rare Finds portfolio, further strengthening the company's commitment to distinctive, conservation-led destinations across Africa.

“South Africa is where the Kerzner story began, and it remains the heartbeat of our DNA. The addition of Shamwari Private Game Reserve to our Rare Finds collection marks a significant milestone as we deepen our commitment to this extraordinary destination,” says Philippe Zuber, Chief Executive Officer, Kerzner International.

“We have immense respect for the vision that has shaped Shamwari into a globally recognized leader in wildlife conservation, community engagement and responsible tourism. Through Rare Finds, Kerzner unlocks exceptional destinations and introduces them to a global audience, remaining true to each place's individual identity while guided by our standards of luxury, Amazing Experiences and Everlasting Memories. Building on the success of destinations such as Bab Al Shams and One&Only Gorilla's Nest, this approach allows properties to seamlessly connect into the Kerzner ecosystem, supported by our operational expertise and global platforms, while enabling the development of future hospitality and adventure-led experiences across Africa and beyond.”

Spread across 25,000 hectares of protected wilderness in the Eastern Cape, Shamwari Private Game Reserve was created with the aim of restoring and conserving the region's land, wildlife, birdlife and ecological diversity. The reserve spans seven distinctive lodges, each designed to honour the destination with its own culinary and wellness experiences, bringing together multi-generational adventures under the African sun.

As part of Kerzner's expanded management scope, Shamwari Air will be integrated into the Group's commercial platform. The exclusive air service offers direct, on-demand flights from Cape Town International Airport and OR Tambo International Airport, reducing travel time to under two hours from Cape Town and just over two hours from Johannesburg, with access to private lounges at both airports, ensuring a fully curated end-to-end guest journey, from arrival to departure.

Joe Cloete, Chief Executive Officer of Shamwari Private Game Reserve, says, “We at Shamwari Private Game Reserve are thrilled to be included in the Rare Finds portfolio of Kerzner International. This endorses our continuous commitment to adding value to our guest experience as we grow the Shamwari brand in the international market.”

As a cornerstone of the Rare Finds collection, the partnership represents a natural synergy, merging Kerzner's global reach, expertise and leadership in experiential luxury with Shamwari's individuality and conservation-driven purpose. Kerzner's focus will be to continue driving and ensuring that the reserve remains a pioneer in sustainable, impactful travel while setting a new benchmark for experiential luxury in the region.

Kerzner's continued expansion across the African continent connects Shamwari seamlessly within the wider portfolio, including One&Only Cape Town, One&Only Nyungwe House, One&Only Le Saint Géran, and Mazagan Beach and Golf Resort.
