Grupotel acquires Barceló Conil Playa in Spain from Wingenia

Spanish owner-operator Grupotel has acquired the four-star, 210-room Barceló Conil Playa in Conil de la Frontera, Spain from Spanish asset management company Wingenia. The beachfront property is situated in the south of Spain, about 100 kms west of Gibraltar. The hotel opened in 2021 and includes three restaurants, three bars and three meeting rooms. It was previously operated by Barceló and will now be managed by the new owners under the name Grupotel Conil Playa from November 2025 onwards.

Pestana acquires Aloft Brussels Schuman from Schroders and Extendam

Portuguese owner-operator Pestana Hotel Group has acquired the three-star, 150-room Aloft Brussels Schuman in Belgium from British asset manager Schroders Capital and French private equity firm Extendam. The property is situated in Brussels’ EU district, some 500 metres from the European Parliament and includes a bar, a 24/7 shop and three meeting rooms. Schroders and Extendam acquired the hotel in 2019, renovated it in 2020, and entered into a franchise agreement with Marriott thereafter.

Corum acquires TH Lazise Hotel Parchi del Garda in Italy from Marlin Real Estate

French asset manager Corum has acquired the four-star, 233-room TH Lazise Hotel Parchi del Garda in Lazise, Italy from Marlin Real Estate, a subsidiary of London-based asset manager Algebris. The property is situated by Lake Garda, halfway between Milan and Venice. The hotel includes a restaurant, cafe and nine meeting rooms. Italian operator TH Resorts has managed the hotel under a long-term lease since 2021.

Fäh family acquires Hotel Merian Basel in Switzerland from ZFV

Swiss entrepreneurs Edwin and Salomé Fäh have acquired the four-star, 64-room Hotel Merian Basel from Swiss hospitality group ZFV-Unternehmungen. The property, which includes a restaurant, is located on the Rhine River in Basel’s Old Town and is held under a ground lease from the three honorary societies of Kleinbasel (3E). Since April 2024, the hotel and restaurant have been managed by the Liechtenstein-based operator b_smart. This marks the second hotel in the Fäh family’s portfolio, alongside the four-star, 33-room Art House Hotel in Basel.
