Organised by the Singapore Hotel Association (SHA), and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) as well as Workforce Singapore (WSG), the second edition of Hospitality Exchange (HX 2025) took place today at Hilton Singapore Orchard, bringing together over 300 hoteliers, trade partners and industry stakeholders.

Guest-of-Honour Mr. Alvin Tan, Minister of State, Ministry of Trade & Industry and Ministry of National Development, delivered the Opening Address and highlighted key initiatives that will further strengthen innovation, sustainability and workforce transformation within the hotel industry.

HX 2025: Hospitality Redefined

Centred on the theme “Beyond the Stay Experience – Hospitality Redefined”, HX 2025 featured a full-day programme of keynote presentations, and panel discussions led by international experts and industry leaders. Alongside the conference, a curated HX Marketplace showcased cutting-edge hospitality solutions, providing a vibrant networking arena for hoteliers and solution providers to exchange ideas and explore partnerships.

SHA President Mr Kenneth Li shared, “Hospitality Exchange 2025 reinforces SHA’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and human capital. This year’s theme, ‘Beyond the Stay Experience – Hospitality Redefined’ mirrors our mandate to support hotels with strategies and solutions that matter. Today’s strong turnout reaffirms the common objective to build a resilient sector that is future-ready.”

Refreshed Hotel Industry Digital Plan (IDP)

In conjunction with HX 2025, STB and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), with the support of SHA, announced the refresh of the Hotel Industry Digital Plan (IDP) since its inception in 2019. The refreshed IDP aims to accelerate the adoption of five key technologies – Smart Rooms, Robotics, Digital Concierge, Digital Check-in & Check-out, and Asset Management Systems – to enhance guest experience, productivity and operations. Hotels can now access the refreshed IDP through IMDA’s Chief Technology Officer-as-a-Service (CTO-as-a-Service) platform, which provides over 300 pre-approved essential business solutions with grant support, cybersecurity resources and relevant training courses to support broad-based enterprises on their digitalisation journey and to protect their business.

Workforce Transformation Initiative

SHA announced the inaugural Career Health Workshop for the Hotel industry, in collaboration with WSG. The workshop will equip HR professionals, line managers, and supervisors with essential skills to conduct meaningful career conversations and implement structured career planning. Employers can better assess workforce capabilities and identify skills gaps, while employees gain clearer pathways for career progression.

The Workforce Transformation Award 2025, jointly presented by WSG and SHA, recognises hotels that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to job transformation and human capital development. This year’s award was presented to PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, Singapore for its exemplary efforts in various job redesign, reskilling, and human capital initiatives to enhance job value and build an agile, future-ready workforce.

Sustainability Achievements and Goals

The hotel sector has achieved significant progress towards the hotel industry target of having 60 percent of Singapore’s hotel room stock sustainably certified by end-2025. As of September 2025, 61 percent of hotel room stock – representing 42,724 rooms across 100 hotels – is already certified, underscoring the sector’s strong commitment to environmental stewardship and Singapore’s vision of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Comprehensive Industry Support Ecosystem

Hotels continue to benefit from a broad ecosystem of support, including the Hotel Rejuvenation Fund, CTO-as-a-Service platform, and the Decarbonisation Playbook. These initiatives provide hoteliers with the resources and frameworks needed to successfully implement their digital, sustainability and workforce transformation strategies, supporting Singapore's Tourism 2040 vision to ensure the industry remains competitive, sustainable and future-ready in an evolving global landscape

A Platform for Collaboration and Innovation

Attendees at HX 2025 praised the dynamic exchange of ideas, practical insights, and future-focused discussions. The HX Marketplace once again proved to be a highlight, showcasing next-generation solutions that promise to redefine the guest journey and operational excellence.

Hospitality Exchange 2025 concluded with a networking reception, where industry leaders and solution providers continued to build connections and collaborations to advance the sector together.
