Indonesia sees 7 mil int'l tourists in H1 2025, +9% YoY, but it's not all good news - the Indonesia Tourism Industry Association reports a hotel revenue drop of 30%-40%, attributed to lower domestic spend and government budget cuts.

Meanwhile, Thailand sees a 7% decline YoY in int'l arrivals from 1 Jan-17 Aug and the National Economic and Social Development Council downgrade its 2025 arrivals forecast from 37 million to 33 million.

Cebu Pacific to add domestic capacity by operating widebody aircraft for the holiday season, THAI to add to domestic and Chinese air route capacity, doubling the number of its Chinese flights.

The $2 billion USD Van Don Integrated Casino and Tourism Complex in Quang Ninh is approved by the government, with a difference - for the first time, Vietnamese citizens will be allowed to enter the casino. In contrast, Bali's governor boasts of rejecting an offer to open a casino on the island that he claims could have generated 100 trillion IDR.
