IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, is bringing its distinctive Hotel Indigo brand to the Balearic Islands for the first time with the opening of Hotel Indigo Menorca.

Set to open in summer 2026, the hotel marks IHG's eighth open and pipeline Hotel Indigo property in Spain - contributing to the growth of its Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in the market. The hotel presents a significant opportunity for IHG to strengthen its foothold in the Balearic Islands, complementing its existing Mallorca properties - Kimpton Aysla Mallorca and the recently signed Vignette Collection Mallorca, as well as Six Senses Ibiza.

The 75-key conversion property will be a haven for travellers seeking a unique and locally inspired experience. Located in Mahón, the island’s capital, Hotel Indigo Menorca is situated in a prime location overlooking the stunning port and has excellent transport links, including easy access to Menorca Airport making it the perfect base for exploring this idyllic island.

Guests can enjoy a truly relaxing escape, featuring exceptional amenities such as private terraces in every room, a sea-view restaurant, a stylish bar showcasing local flavours, and an outdoor pool. The hotel's location in Menorca is renowned for its 300 days of sunshine, pristine beaches, and tranquil charm, ensuring a captivating international appeal.

True to the brand’s ethos, Hotel Indigo Menorca will be a unique reflection of its neighbourhood, with the island's story being woven into the guest experience. Beyond the ideal launchpad for guests, Hotel Indigo Menorca will be an integral part of the community, directly overlooking Isla del Rey and the renowned Hauser & Wirth art centre. Just steps away, Es Castell Marina's vibrant atmosphere invites guests to immerse themselves in Menorca's cultural and coastal charm.

(Mrs) Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Hotel Indigo has been introducing itself to must-visit destinations around the world at a rapid rate, capturing the spirit of local neighbourhoods everywhere. The rich history of Menorca makes it the ideal location for our Hotel Indigo brand where the hotel can capture the true spirit of the neighbourhood.

We are delighted to be growing in Spain alongside our partners at Senator Hotels & Resorts, who have extensive experience within the Balearic Islands, enabling us to leverage their local knowledge. We see Spain as a market with significant growth potential and this signing is a prime example of how our exceptional Spanish team on the ground continue to thrive and distinguish IHG from our competitors in the market.”

Daniel Rossell, Owner, Senator Hotels & Resorts said: “We are thrilled to be expanding our successful partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts with Hotel Indigo Menorca. IHG has proven to be an industry leader, not only with its global enterprise but also in its collaborative approach to working with owners.
