Casino experts at NonGamStopBets compiled data to reveal the most overrated hotels in Las Vegas. Tripadvisor reviews for each venue were analyzed, and the average visitor ratings and keywords mentioned in the reviews were collated to highlight the most common issues with each hotel.
Circus Circus Hotel and Casino is in first place, with 14,392 total reviews, only 2,925 of which are five-star and 2,182 are one-star, contributing to a modest score of 3.27.
Despite its nostalgic charm and family-friendly appeal, 5.40% call the venue outdated, and 18.00% highlight cleanliness as a significant downside, making Circus Circus Hotel and Casino a hit-or-miss experience.
In second place is the Excalibur Hotel & Casino. Out of 27,286 total reviews, only 7,346 are five-star, and 4,655 are one-star, giving the landmark an average score of 3.3 out of five.
While its medieval theme may draw in crowds, the experience falls short of expectations, with 7.40% of reviews calling the venue dirty and 4.70% deeming it outdated.
Flamingo Las Vegas ranks third, with 48,063 reviews in total, including 11,693 five-star reviews and 6,139 one-star reviews. The venue has an average score of 3.4 out of five.
The hotel has remained an iconic fixture since opening in 1946. Still, despite its rich history on the Strip, 15.50% of visitors flagged cleanliness as an issue, while 11.90% expressed disappointment with the overall experience.
To make matters worse, 11.10% of reviews mentioned rude service. While it may be one of the oldest and most famous hotels in Vegas, the Flamingo struggles to live up to the expectations of many modern-day visitors.
In fourth place is The Luxor Hotel & Casino, which boasts the highest number of reviews on this list, at 61,980. Despite 17,848 five-star ratings, it has a review score of 3.47 with 8,033 one-star ratings.
Not all visitors are impressed with the venue. In fact, 9.31% of reviews mention cleanliness issues and 4.20% express disappointment.
Although it is one of the most distinctive landmarks on the Strip, the Luxor’s experience does not always live up to its unique appearance.
Harrah's Las Vegas places fifth with 1,295 total reviews, 360 of which are five-star and 101 are one-star, accumulating an average rating of 3.48, leaving 5.50% of reviewers disappointed.
