Hotel Pitrizza will become Cheval Blanc Pitrizza in 2026 after LVMH signed a management contract to take over the storied Sardinian property.

This will be the first property on a Mediterranean island for LVMH Hotel Management. Hotel Pitrizza will form part of the group’s Cheval Blanc brand.

Road to rebranding

Hotel Pitrizza will operate as is, without explicit LVMH branding, until 2026 when it will be rebranded into an LVMH property and undergo extensive renovation.

The hotel is located on a white-sand beach, accessible by boat. The hotel contains a saltwater pool sculpted by granite rocks, a kids’ club, a spa, a restaurant, and 65 rooms and suites. This includes 16 independent villas with private pools.

The property employs extensive use of local materials, including granite, terracotta and dark wood.

LVMH looks to expand into hotels

With the Cheval Blanc brand, LVMH Hotel Management is developing a collection of luxury hotels. The first in the series was the Cheval Blanc Courchevel, which opened in the French Alps in 2006.

The second was the Cheval Blanc Randheli, which opened in the autumn of 2013 in the Maldives. Since then, the brand has rapidly expanded worldwide, with a Caribbean outpost of Blanc St-Barth opening its doors in October 2014.

An acquisition of Saint Tropez’s Résidence de la Pinède in 2016 followed soon after, with the hotel becoming Cheval Blanc St-Tropez in early 2019 following extensive renovations.

Cheval Blanc Paris, located within the Samaritaine, opened in September 2021. Future projects are underway, including in the holiday hotspot of the Seychelles.
