Hilton's commitment to personal service and well-designed facilities in Asia Pacific has paid off, with an impressive number of awards over the last few months, including top spots for six Hilton properties at the World Travel Awards yesterday.
Celebrating its first year anniversary, one of Hilton's flagship properties, Hilton Kuala Lumpur scooped Malaysia's Best Hotel at the World Travel Awards in London and Hilton Hanoi won Vietnam's Best Hotel for the second year running, after voting by 176,000, travel professionals across 200 countries.
Hilton Kuala Lumpur and Hilton Hanoi's wins set the scene for Hilton Chongqing in China, Hilton Colombo in Sri Lanka, Hilton Hanoi Opera in Vietnam, Hilton Odawara in Japan and Conrad Bangkok in Thailand who also secured first place in their various categories.
A delighted Koos Klein, President Middle East & Asia Pacific, Hilton International commented, "A little over five years ago, we mapped out a blueprint for a new-generation of Hilton hotels in Asia Pacific which included building contemporary hardware and re-engineering the software. In other awards since June, Hilton Chongqing was recently honoured with the 2005 Business Traveller China Award for Best Business Hotel in Chongqing while Hilton Auckland was named ‘Top NZ CBD Hotel of the Year' at the 2005 Hotel and Accommodation Management Awards for the third year running.
Meanwhile, Hilton Kuala Lumpur recently won 5 awards at Hospitality Asia's Awards of Excellence including the top award for Best 5-Star Business Hotel as well as Best Western Cuisine Restaurant for Senses by Cheong Liew, Best All Day Dining Restaurant for Sudu and Best Interior Design. Hilton Kuala Lumpur also secured Asia's Best Business Hotel at the Travel Trade Gazette Asia Awards (TTG Asia) having been the clear choice among 7,200 voting readers across 17 countries. And in June, the hotel won the 5-Star Diamond Award from the American Association of Hospitality Sciences as well as five awards at the regional Asia Travel and Tourism Creative Awards.
