In response to the high cost of vacation prices, due in part to the corona crisis, high overhead costs, severe shortage of workers and restrictions on entry into Israel, the Minister of Tourism, Yoel Razvozov asked the Israel Hotel Association to compile a list of hotels that agree to give discounts to prospective holidaymakers.
As a result, the Israel Hotel Association will publish a list of hotels from all over the country (with the exception of Eilat and the Dead Sea) and covering all accommodation standards which have joined the initiative, offering a discount of at least 15% and additional benefits.
The list, which is voluntary and will contain more than 100 hotels, will be published within the next day or so by the Israel Hotel Association, providing the relevant information about discounts and promotions in each and every hotel.
Minister of Tourism, Yoel Razvozov: “I am pleased to take the first step on the path to lowering vacation costs in Israel, in accordance with the policy recently presented by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett in his talks with me. I am aware of the free-market forces and the real challenges posed by this period for hoteliers, but vacationing in Israel cannot be only for the rich. Therefore, I thank the Israel Hotel Association who adopted my request and turned it into a reality for the Israeli public. This is of course just the beginning, and I hope that more and more hotels will join the list.
President of the Israel Hotel Association, Amir Hayek: “Israeli hoteliers are happy to cooperate as much as possible with the Prime Minister's call and the Minister of Tourism's request. The cost of living in Israel is not the exclusive domain of households. Businesses also experience a high cost of living. In addition, the industry is severely short of workers. For our part, we will do everything possible to give the best possible service for the best price.”
