Travel trade glimpse at HK Disney.

Key members of Hong Kong's travel industry visited the Hong Kong Disneyland site today, to experience first-hand the progress behind the first Disney theme park in China.

Accompanied by executives from Hong Kong Disneyland, around 30 senior travel industry representatives including Mr. Howard Young, legislative councilor, Hong Kong SAR Government, toured the Disney park and resort including the three themed lands, the two hotels, and the public transport interchange. They also received a special preview at how the park's many sights and feature attractions are coming to life. The agents were pleased to the see the great progress of construction with just over 100 days to go before the grand opening on September 12.

"The travel trade is an important constituent in our overall inbound distribution channels. They help us reach out to guests from all over the world and we treasure the strong and mutually beneficial relationship we have with them," Said Roy Tan Hardy, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Hong Kong Disneyland. "We are delighted to be able to provide our industry partners with a first hand look at some of the magic behind Hong Kong Disneyland which is set to become the most popular family vacation destination in the region."

Ronnie Ho, Chairman of Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong said, "It was great to see that the construction progress of Hong Kong Disneyland is progressing satisfactorily and I am confident that the park will be able to open on schedule."

Attending today's site visit included representatives from the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, Federation of Hong Kong Chinese Travel Agents, International Chinese Tourist Association, Hong Kong Association of Travel Agents Ltd, Hong Kong Outbound Tour Operators' Association Ltd, Society of IATA Passenger Agents Ltd, Hong Kong Taiwan Tourist Operators Association Ltd, Hong Kong Japanese Tour Operators Association Ltd, Hong Kong Inbound Tour Operators Association Ltd, Hong Kong Inbound travel Association Limited, Hong Kong Association of Registered Tour Coordinators and Swire Travel Limited.
