Singapore-based HPL Hotels & Resorts announces new management contract with Rihiveli Beach Resort in Maldives.
HPL Hotels & Resorts (HPLHR), a Singapore-based hospitality management company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore main- board listed Hotel Properties Limited (HPL), announces new management contract with the Rihiveli Beach Resort (Rihiveli) in Maldives.
First opened in 1983, this beachfront resort is unique to its surroundings and has continued to preserve its nature, serenity and friendliness of the island. Just four metres from the pristine beach and the magnificent Indian Ocean, Rihiveli's 48 individual bungalows, tucked amongst flora and fauna, each with its own garden and furnished with the island's own wood, bring you a total tranquil holiday experience.
The bungalows offer homely comforts with good taste, ceiling fan, terrace with a view to the breaking dawn or the mesmerising sunset and a hammock to bask in the peace and calm of this paradise.
Located 47 km from the Male airport and an hour away by speedboat, Rihiveli is surrounded by crystal-clear turquoise lagoon away from tourist crowds. Within the lagoon are also the two virgin islands of Sunrise and the Birds, both about 400-metre radius and easily accessible on foot or by canoe.
Excursions and most sports activities such as half day tour to other resorts, half day visit to fishermen's island, full day Maldivian Island tour, snorkelling, water skiing, windsurfing, catamaran excursion, amongst others, are free on this island. Prepare to be pampered by the Chef, who whips up sumptuous varieties of cuisine, thanks to the abundance of fresh seafood and the import of selected fresh produce.
"Rihiveli will be a fine addition to our collection of quality boutique resorts, which currently include Casa del Mar and The Lakehouse, offering our guests diverse holiday options to suit their needs and requirements. Maldives is one of the most popular beach destinations for travellers in search of peace and tranquillity. I am assured that our guests will be at home with Rihiveli and find it an exceptionally rustic and relaxing place," said Edmund Nicholas, Vice President – Marketing.
Thomas Blachere, a French national, is the General Manager of Rihiveli for the past three years. Prior to joining the resort, Thomas was running his own dive centre in Maldives for 10 years. Having visited the island in 1991, he fell in love with the country and decided to set up business there and is now a residence of Maldives for 13 years.
Room rates at Rihiveli start from USD280. For more information about the resort, please check out its website at www.rihiveli-maldives.com.
