Qantas today announced details of its new stylish lounge in Hong Kong ahead of its official opening in March 2014.

Designed to reflect Hong Kong's colour, vibrancy and luxury, the new lounge is set to significantly enhance the international pre-flight experience for Qantas customers.

Qantas International Chief Executive Officer, Simon Hickey said Qantas is focused on leading the way when it comes to setting the standard for premium travel.

"Hong Kong is a key market for Qantas and this multi-million dollar investment in our lounge is testament to our commitment to the region," said Mr Hickey.

"Our customers consistently tell us that Qantas lounges are a key part of their journey and the success of our new Singapore lounge reaffirms our strategy of investing in our international lounges as we have done in Australia.

"The majority of our inbound flights to Australia are overnight, so our customers want to dine in the lounge before they fly so they can maximise their sleep onboard."

The food and beverage offering will include classics from Qantas Consulting Chef Neil Perry's Rockpool and Spice Temple restaurants with regionally inspired Asian flavours and ingredients.

The Qantas Hong Kong Lounge will offer:
  • A modern twist on yum cha trolleys serving dumplings throughout the lounge.
  • Customer dining at our Spice Temple BBQ Bar
  • Tray around and a buffet featuring a range of fresh and enticing food
  • Panoramic views across the airport overlooking Qantas gates at a feature bar where customers will be able to enjoy signature cocktails, wines, spirits and barista service.
  • A Family Zone.
The new Qantas Hong Kong Lounge supports Qantas' strategy to deliver the best travel options of any airline flying between Australia and Asia, which has already seen a 10 per cent seat increase from Hong Kong to Australia and a schedule that reflects better flight times and frequencies.

Qantas will also introduce a fifth A380 service between Hong Kong and Australia on 4 November, supplementary Hong Kong-Sydney services over the 2014 Chinese New Year period and will upgrade all Hong Kong to Sydney services between 7 January and 26 February 2014 to A380 aircraft.
