The hotel market in London is booming. 51 new first class and luxury hotels will open within the next years and one of the most outstanding hotel construction projects in the city is the construction of the Peninsula Hotel.

The location is ideal: In the Buckingham Palace's garden with view over the Hyde Park a mixed-use project on a 6,100 square meter size plot should be developed. This includes The Peninsula London, the first hotel of Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels (HSH) in England. The project will be promoted conjointly with the international real estate development group Grosvenor.

"London is one of the most important financial centers of the world and an international key location for business tourism," says Clement KM Kwok, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HSH. He also said "This project is in harmony with our long-term strategy and our desire to further expansion in Europe". Details of the hotel construction project will be imparted after obtaining regulatory.

The next hotel opening in London is set for October in the new skyscraper „The Shard" – a Shangri-La Hotel with 202 rooms and a panoramic terrace.

A new landmark hotel in London is the planned Armani Hotel at the Admiralty Arch (below). The opening of the fashion design luxury hotel presumably is late 2015.

It will be the third Armani Hotel worldwide besides Dubai (Burj Khalifa) and Milano. The refurbishment of the 100-year-old historical building will cost about 100 million British Pounds. The hotel designer Rafael Serrano, who also has co-created the Bulgari Hotel London, is in debate. Further details about this hotel projects are not yet known.
