On the back of the recently-completed NATAS Holidays 2012 in Singapore, ZUJI has released its findings of its most popular travel destinations.
The proud leader of the pack this year is Berlin, with an intoxicating 70% increase in holiday goers choosing this historic city to visit. Many positive things to tell friends and family from this destination, like the famous Bratwurst, its hip underground scene and the liberating imagery painted along the Berlin Wall.
Koh Samui, Taipei and Philadelphia have all jumped up the ladder with more than 50% in growth. These destinations shout excitement and have something for everybody such as beach fun, night life excitement, city centralism and picturesque landscapes.
Barcelona saw a 30% increase in activity - tourists may have saved the season.
Vancouver comes in next with a 20% increase. It has something for every traveller - from some of the best mountain tops in the world for skiing, accompanied by heart-stopping views as well as good old fashioned the laid back charm.
Christchurch stands mighty among the other popular NATAS destinations with triple the growth. Known internationally as the "Garden City" for its spectacular gardens – it is alive with colour, atmosphere and world-class attractions.
With double the fun,
Yangon, Osaka, Portland, Auckland and Cairns have seen double the bookings this year, with little hint that any of them will be slowing down soon.
Note: NATAS Holidays 2012 enjoyed S$108 million in collective sales, eight per cent more than the S$100 million record set at Holidays 2011. The top five popular destinations overall were Europe, China, Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
