Coworking spaces and cafes are great options for 'digital nomads' looking to work during extended travels, said Tobias Kremkau, Coworking Manager.
“The amenities are similar to what you’d get in a library,” said Kremkau. "But they can also serve as meeting spaces for people and engender a great community feeling.”
Still, coworking spaces are not ubiquitous in Europe. In that case, cafes make for great substitutes, said Kremkau.
“It’s a great way to meet local residents who have similar tastes to me,” said Kramkau.
Classic hotels on the other hand are not as well-suited for this purpose, as local residents typically don’t spend time there.
“And these often lack individuality,” said Kremkau. “Hotels in the Allgäu in Germany don’t need to look like hotels in Copenhagen.”
Often these hotels are there to serve different tastes and needs than those of digital nomads, he said.
