As the world's largest travel trade show ITB Berlin has become recognised as the industry's biggest think tank.
The ITB Academy features a wide-ranging programme that provides industry representatives with opportunities to further their expert knowledge. ITB Berlin has released details of its latest programme of webinars of workshops due to take place over the coming months.
10 October 2013, 3pm: Daniel Noll and Audrey Scott, Uncornered Market, About the storytelling role of social media and about their activities working together with bloggers.
17 October 2013, 2pm: Michael Kraak and Pierre-Etienne Métais, emcra, Insight into EU funding mechanisms and the relevant fulfilment requirements.
26 November 2013, 2pm: Kristine Honig-Bock, who specialises in marketing tourism via social networking sites, will hold an online seminar in German about how to make optimum use of social media in the context of ITB Berlin.
11 December 2013, 10 am, Rolf Freitag, founder and president of IPK International and organiser of the annual World Travel Monitor, will summarise last year's global travel trends and provide an outlook for 2014.
From 23 to 25 October 2013 the latest annual edition of ITB Asia will be held in Singapore, with numerous workshops also taking place. Participants can find out about German-speaking source markets and the growing importance of LGBT tourism. Taking place on 25 October, the ITB Berlin Business Breakfast will examine the latest challenges facing the industry.
The ITB Academy will also be holding a workshop at the annual conference of the German Travel Association (DRV) in Salzburg. On 16 November, at this event, Nicole Kobjoll of Schindlerhof in Nuremberg will lecture on how workers can impress customers with their commitment and enthusiasm.
