As society seeks to buy new and increasingly exciting experiences, we're seeing an expansion of opportunities for well-heeled travelers.
Related to 'Glamping', 'Cabineering' is a new lodging concept being offered in West Yellowstone National Park in Montana. Designed for adventurous travelers, Cabineering provides the comforts of home and the perks of a hotel in remote areas.
Explorer Cabins at Yellowstone, a 50-cabin property, is scheduled to open July 1st. This unique lodging concept provides a different kind of vacation experience and combines several lodging trends, including not only Cabineering, but also "generational travel" and dog-friendly travel.
These self-catering cabins are located very close to the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park and a short drive from the Old Faithful Geyser. The cabins are clustered in five distinct natural camp settings to encourage a sense of community for groups traveling together and are named after early pioneers and explorers of Yellowstone National Park.
Each cabin is equipped with a fireplace, a front porch with a sitting area, private bathrooms, and a kitchenette, plus modern amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, a flat-screen HDTV, premium cable, wireless telephone, and alarm clock/MP3 player. All guests will even receive supplies for making S'mores*.
Three designs of cabins are available: "Montana", "Old Faithful", and "Yellowstone". Accommodating up to four people, the 10 Montana Cabins consist of one large room with two queen-size beds. Guests can connect two adjoining cabins through an interior doorway.
Again accommodating up to four people, the 10 Old Faithful Cabins contain one king size bed in a private bedroom, as well as a living room area with a sleeper sofa.
The 20 Yellowstone Cabins accommodate up to six people and include two private bedrooms with one king bed in the master suite. They feature a queen bed in the second bedroom, and half of the cabins feature a twin over twin bunk bed in the second bedroom.
Cabineering is another chance for travelers, who can afford to spend more, to enjoy nature and still enjoy a level of luxury. Expect to see a variety of new worldwide options that offer close-to-nature luxury vacations.
* Commonly created around a campfire, S'mores are a US concoction of graham crackers, milk chocolate squares, and toasted marshmallows. The warmth from the toasted marshmallows often melts the chocolate. Many people enjoy them very much.
