THE PASSING OF DEAN ROBERT BECK

This newsletter does not usually express opinions and has a merely informational mission. The passing of Dean Robert Beck (retired) of Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, however, is a very personal event for those who knew him. A war hero (he lost a leg in Normandy during World War II) with movie star looks (and an unending collection of silk bowties) he made the school THE place to go if you were to have a career in hospitality management. Not that those before and after him did not do a fine job, "there can only be one César Ritz." This writer was introduced to Dean Beck one fall afternoon in 1972 to inquire about a graduate program that could be a logical continuation to French Law School and a bit of experience as a busboy and sommelier. It so happened the Master of Professional Studies (since then renamed) was to launch in the fall of 1973. I was part of the first graduating class – along with 19 others. Dean Beck was my monograph advisor and the door to his office was always open to me (and everyone else with a purpose.). I remember he once told me he appreciated the fact I made the effort of always wearing a suit and tie to classes. He will be missed.

THE AMERICAS

Ted Knighton has added the title of President to his name with  Interstate Hotels & Resorts. He has been with the company since 1990, most recently as Chief Operating Officer, a position he will retain.

The Trump Hotel Collection has appointed Todd Wynne-Parry Senior Vice President of Global Hotel Development and Acquisitions. He was most recently with Pan Pacific Hotels in San Francisco as Vice President Development for North America. He had previously served in acquisitions and development posts with InterContinental, Starwood and Marriott.

Rick Segal has returned to Starwood Hotels & Resorts as Vice President, Owner Relations for Latin America. He had previously spent 22 years with the company in various posts with the Sheraton Hotel Tel Aviv, the Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Towers, and the Sheraton San Cristobal Hotel & Towers. His most recent post with Starwood at the St. Regis New York where he spent seven years as Managing Director. He was most recently Managing Director for Park Hyatt Hotels North America, in addition to overseeing the Park Hyatt Chicago. 

At Vail Hospitality, Tim Estes, former Vice President of Beaver Creek Hospitality, will take over leadership of Hospitality for Keystone and Lake Tahoe. He has been with Vail Resorts since 2003 and previously served in roles at the Cheeca Lodge & Spa before starting his current role in 2006.
 
Bryan Austin has been promoted to Vice President of Vail/Beaver Creek Hospitality, encompassing oversight of all Vail properties and Beaver Creek Resort Properties. He originally joined the company in 2008 as General Manager of the Lodge at Vail. He is a former Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons man.

Vail Resorts has named Michael Barkin Vice President of Strategy, Development. He was most recently with Denver-based KRG Capital Partners, where he was a Principal.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has promoted Serge Rivera to Co-President of Starwood Americas. He was most recently with Starwood Vacation Ownership as Chief Executive Officer.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has promoted Steve Williams to Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Starwood Vacation Ownership. He has been with Starwood since 2000, most recently as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Kenneth Greene has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of Delta Hotels and Resorts, taking over from Hank Stackhouse, who retired last December. Greene was most recently President and Managing Director - Asia Pacific - for Wyndham.

Senih Geray is now at the St. Regis Atlanta as General Manager. For the past six years, he had been in the same position at the St. Regis Aspen. He is the former General Manager of the Sheraton Voyager Antalya Hotel, Resort & Spa in Turkey and Director of Finance for the St. Regis New York.
 
Steve Benson has returned to Scottsdale to join the Royal Palms Resort and Spa as General Manager. He had previously served as Resort Manager at the Four Seasons Scottsdale before taking on his most recent post as General Manager at the Four Seasons Jackson Hole.

Christian Tavelli is now in Dallas as General Manager of the Mansion on Turtle Creek. He was most recently the Managing Director of sister property Rosewood San Miguel de Allende. Tavelli is the former Hotel Manager of the Rosewood Sand Hill and Resort Manager at Las Ventanas al Paraiso.

Brian Young has been named General Manager for the Castle Hill Inn in Newport, Rhode Island. He was most recently with Tucker's Point Resort in Bermuda as Managing Director. Young is a former Vice President, Operations, for Sea Island Resorts, and Rosewood Hotels and Resorts.

The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa has named Greg Gooding General Manager. Since 2008, he had been the General Manager at the Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld. He is the former General Manager at the South Seas Island Resort and previously spent nearly a decade with Wyndham Worldwide.

Lausanne graduate Emmanuel Gardinier has joined the 21c Museum Hotel Bentonville in Arkansas as General Manager. He is the former General Manager at the Planters Inn in Charleston and Little Palm Island Resort and Spa in Florida.

Gerry Link has been appointed General Manager at the 21c Cincinnati, slated to open later this year. He is the former General Manager at the Hilton Vancouver Hotel & Convention Center.

Clare Evans has joined the Lumiere Hotel in Telluride as General Manager. She was most recently at the Vista Caballo in Colorado as Global Development Director. Evans was the opening General Manager of the original 21c Hotel in Louisville.

Mark Stebbings is now the Managing Director for Travaasa Destinations in Denver. He was most recently overseeing the Hotel Hana-Maui, which became a Travaasa in 2010. He is the former General Manager at the Point.

Amy Commans has been named General Manager of the Luxe Sunset Boulevard. She previously served 22 years as General Manager of the Westlake Village Inn.

At Noble House, Rudy Sharp has been appointed Vice President and Managing Director of the Gateway Canyons Resort in Colorado. He is the former Vice President and Regional Managing Director for sister properties La Torretta Lake Resort and Managing Director at the Hotel Edgewater.

Monte Hansen has been named General Manager of the Royal Sonesta in Houston. He was most recently the General Manager at the Peabody in Little Rock.

Phillip Starling has been named General Manager for the Naples Bay Resort. He was most recently the Director of Operations for the Marenas Resort. Starling is the former General Manager of the Grove Isle Hotel & Spa.  

Geoffrey Mills joins the Crowne Plaza Times Square as Managing Director. He was most recently in the same position for the Yotel New York. He is the former Managing Director of the Paramount and Embassy Suites New York. At the Crowne Plaza, he takes over from Michael Silberstein.

Patrik Horstmann has joined the Roger in New York as General Manager. He is the former General Manager of the Nolitan, 111 Mercer and the Hotel Gansevoort, all in Manhattan.

The Loews Don CeSar has named Stephen Cummings General Manager. He was most recently overseeing the Loews Denver Hotel.

After a short stint as pre-opening General Manager of the Langham Chicago, Kevin Robinson has become a Principal with the Aperium Hotel Group in Chicago.  He is the former General Manager of the Elysian Chicago (now the Waldorf Astoria).

Bob Edwards has been named General Manager of Kessler Canyon in Colorado. He was most recently the Senior Vice President and General Manager at the Gilchrist Club Resort and Conference Center in Florida.

Laura McIver is the new General Manager at El Encanto in Santa Barbara. She was most recently the General Manager at the Canary Hotel, also in Santa Barbara. She is the former Resident Manager for Casa Del Mar and Director of Food and Beverage at Shutters on the Beach.

Susan Perrothers has joined the Gettysburg Hotel as General Manager. Since 2008, she had served as General Manager for the Residence Inn by Marriott Danbury.

Trish Berry is rejoining Ritz-Carlton after a six-year hiatus spent as General Manager of the SportsClub LA in Washington, D.C. The former Project Director of Ritz-Carlton's "project mystique" will now be the General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Residences at Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

Kevin Herbst has been appointed General Manager of Chaminade Resort & Spa in Santa Cruz. He was previously overseeing the Heldrich Hotel.

Nathan Loga has been promoted to Hotel Manager and joined the Four Seasons San Francisco. He was most recently the Director of Rooms at the Beverly Wilshire. He had previously held rooms positions at the Four Seasons Washington, D.C., the Four Seasons George V and the Four Seasons Singapore.

The Four Seasons Houston has named Philippe Larrieu Hotel Manager. He was most recently with the Four Seasons Langkawi as Resort Manager.  

The Four Seasons Mexico City has named Manuel Leal Hotel Manager. He is the former Director of Food and Beverage of the Casa Magna Marriott in Puerto Vallarta.

Michael Nenner has moved to the Four Seasons Philadelphia as Hotel Manager. He was most recently in the same post with the Four Seasons St. Louis. He is the former Director of Rooms at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago and the Cloister at Sea Island.

Michael Mestraud has moved as Resort Manager to the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara. He has been with the company for over nine years, most recently as Resort Manager at the Four Seasons Bora Bora.

Darryll Adams is the new Hotel Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island. He is the former Hotel Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort Naples and a one-time Executive Assistant Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner.

Mary O'Donnell has been promoted to Hotel Manager and moved to the Ritz-Carlton South Beach. She was most recently the Director of Operations at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale. O'Donnell is the former Director of Catering at the Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach.

Angie Clifton has been appointed Hotel Manager at the Fairmont Copley Plaza. She was most recently the Director of Operations at the Fairmont Washington, D.C. and spent eleven years at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

Scott Hagan is now in Louisville as Assistant General Manager at the Brown. For the past six years, he had been in the Turks and Caicos, overseeing rooms for the Palm before taking over as Director of Operations for the Somerset. He had previously served in rooms management positions for the Gansevoort and the Regent Wall Street.

St. Giles Hotels has named Kenneth Hung Assistant General Manager, overseeing the Tuscany and the Court, both in New York City. For the past fifteen years, he had been at the Roosevelt New York, most recently as Director of Services.

David Rebich rejoins the Waterford Hotel Group in his former position of Chief Financial Officer. He was previously in this role before taking on his most recent position as Chief Financial Officer for O.N.E. Enterprises and the Turning Stone Resort Casino.

Robert Brandenberg has been named Food and Beverage Director for the St. Regis Atlanta. He was most recently in the same position for the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok.

Sasa Jaramaz has been named Director of Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton St. Louis. He was most recently the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island.

Dana Pellicano is now with Marriott International based in New York as Director of Restaurant and Bar Concepts - The Americas. Pellicano was most recently the Senior Director of Food and Beverage at the Loews Regency.

Elizabeth Carrier has moved to the Waldorf Astoria Chicago as Director of Food and Beverage. She once was in the same role at the Park Hyatt Chicago. She had previously served in food and beverage management positions for the Four Seasons Chicago, the Ritz-Carlton Chicago and the Beverly Hilton.

Kevin Phenegar has been named Director of Food and Beverage at the Homestead. He was most recently in the same post for the Sagamore. He had previously served in food and beverage positions at Pinehurst Resort.

InterContinental Hotels has named James Gregg Area Director of Sales in San Francisco. He is the former Senior Sales Manager at the Doubletree Berkeley and Group Sales Manager at the Chaminade Resort and Conference Center in Santa Cruz.

Christine Alvarez has been promoted to Vice President of Sales for the JRK Hotel Group, taking over from Kate Jerkens. Alvarez had been the Director of Sales at the JRK-managed Oceana Santa Monica since 2010.

Renay Sobel, the former Director of Sales and Marketing at Trump International New York and at the Soho Grand, has launched Renay Sobel Consulting with the Pierre and Trump International among its clients.

Arizona's Miraval Resort has promoted Carol Stratford Vice President Marketing. She was most recently serving as Director of Marketing for the resort and is the former Director of Marketing for the Homestead in Virginia.

Elizabeth Allen has moved to Rosewood's Inn of the Anasazi in Santa Fe as Director of Sales and Marketing. For the past three years, she had been in the same post for Rosewood's Mansion on Peachtree in Atlanta.

Matt Traub has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for the W Dallas - Victory Hotel. He is the former Director of Sales at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas, the Four Seasons Jackson Hole and, most recently, both the Four Seasons Chicago and the Ritz-Carlton Chicago.

Manya duHoffmann has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for the Refinery Hotel in Manhattan, scheduled to open this fall. She was most recently working as Director of Sales and Marketing for Thompson Hotels at the Thompson LES and the Hollywood Roosevelt.

David Taylor is moving away from hospitality but staying in luxury as Director of Marketing for Devi Kroell in New York. He was previously the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ritz-Carlton New York Central Park South, the St. Regis New York and the New York Palace.

Shannon Colburt has joined the Luxe City Center in Downtown Los Angeles as Director of Sales and Marketing. She is the former Director of Sales and Marketing for the Avalon in Beverly Hills and the Ambrose in Santa Monica.

Cindy Hill has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for the W San Francisco. She had previously served the hotel as Director of Sales and was most recently the Director of Marketing for the W Austin Hotel and Residences.

Rob Stirling has joined the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe as Director of Sales and Marketing. He is the former Director of Sales and Marketing at the Grand Del Mar, the W San Diego and the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina.

John Oakley has joined the Swissôtel Chicago as Director of Sales and Marketing. He is the former Director of Sales at the Westin Galleria & Westin Oaks and Director of Group Sales at the Westin Riverwalk, San Antonio.

Hercy Hernandez has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for the Quin in New York City, slated to open this winter. She was most recently the pre-opening Sales Director for the Setai Fifth Avenue and had previously served in sales positions for Kimpton and Omni.

Heidi Edinger has returned to Chicago to take the post of Director of Sales and Marketing at MileNorth. She was previously the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Talbott Hotel before taking her most recent role as Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Kate Thompson has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for The Curtis in Denver, taking over from JoAnn Elston who was promoted to General Manager. She was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Loews Denver Hotel. Thompson is the former Director of Sales at Donovan House Washington, D.C.

Lorna Kirwan returns to the Madison in Washington, D.C. in her previous post of Director of Sales and Marketing. She had held the position in 2004 before heading to the Mandarin Oriental Washington, ultimately moving into the Director of Sales and Marketing role. She was most recently the Vice President of Sales and Marketing – U.S. for the Doyle Collection.

Melissa Brown has joined Hotel Connections as Vice President, Global Account Management. She is the former Director of Sales and Marketing of Paramount and the Trump Soho New York.

Jeanette Stancato takes over for Brown at the Paramount as Director of Sales and Marketing. She was most recently a Director of Sales with The Leading Hotels of the World.

Jeffrey Spaccio is the new Director of Sales for the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa. He had previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing-Special Projects for the Pyramid Hotel Group and as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hilton Miami Downtown.

Lucy Zatloukal has been appointed Director, National Accounts, at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows. She was most recently a Regional Account Executive for the Gansevoort Hotel Group. She had previously been with the KOR Hotel Group in various sales posts.

Maria Corona has joined Turnberry Isle as Leisure Sales Director. She most recently served as Director of Sales for the Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort in Sunny Isles Beach.

Kelly Whitehead has joined Turnberry Isle as Leisure Sales Manager. She is the former Sales Manager for the Hawks Cay Resort in Duck Key.

Lee Wolen has joined the Peninsula Chicago as Chef de Cuisine for the Lobby. He is the former Sous Chef at Eleven Madison Park.

Derin Moore has joined the Broadmoor as Executive Chef. He was most recently the Executive Chef at Turnberry Isle.

Ashfer Biju has been appointed Executive Chef at the Pierre, a Taj Hotel. He is the former Executive Chef of the Taj Falakanuma Palace and the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa in Mauritius.

The Gettysburg Hotel has named Scott Robinson Executive Chef. He was most recently serving as Sous Chef at the Four Seasons Baltimore. Robinson is the former Sous Chef of the Sheppard Mansion Restaurant.

Bruno Lopez is the Executive Chef at the new Ritz-Carlton Toronto. He had been the Executive Chef for Ritz-Carlton in Marina Del Rey, Half Moon Bay and Dubai in the past. He was most recently the Chef in Residence for the Consulate of France in Los Angeles.

The Hotel at Auburn University has brought in Garry Anderson as Chef. He is the former Sous Chef and Head Banquet Chef at the Solis Lough Eske Castle in Ireland, Head Chef at the Tara Hotel in Killybegs and Senior Chef de Partie at Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's. 

Antonio Estremera has been appointed Executive Chef at the Costa d'Este Beach Resort in Florida. He was most recently serving as Executive Sous Chef at the Center for Leadership Excellence in Bethesda. 

Rémy Funfrock has joined the Wequassett Inn on Cape Cod as Executive Pastry Chef. He was most recently in the same post at the Broadmoor. He is the former Executive Pastry Chef at the Four Seasons Palm Beach and Café Boulud in both Palm Beach and New York.

Maxime Kien is now at the Ritz-Carlton Naples as Assistant Executive Chef. Kien was most recently with the Roosevelt Waldorf Astoria New Orleans as Executive Sous Chef. He is the former Chef de Cuisine for the Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Michal Dedera is the new Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons Chicago. He was most recently in the same position at the Four Seasons Canary Wharf.

Tarek Nour has been named Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons Baltimore. He was most recently in the same position at the Four Seasons Cairo at Nile Plaza.

Gianni Rivera has been appointed Spa Director at the Mokara Hotel & Spa in San Antonio. Most recently, he was the Regional Spa Manager at the Spa Luxury Group that includes the One Bal Harbour Resort, the JW Marriott Miami and the Marenas Resort & Spa.

EUROPE

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has promoted Christopher Norton to President, Hotel Operations – EMEA, taking over for Antoine Corinthios who is leaving the company after 35 years. Norton has been with the company since 1989, most recently as Regional Vice President and General Manager of the Four Seasons George V. The Lausanne graduate had previously overseen the Four Seasons Singapore and both of the Four Seasons Bali properties.

Christian Clerc will be the new General Manager and Area Vice President for the Four Seasons Georges V, taking over from Christopher Norton later this year. The Lausanne graduate is currently overseeing the Four Seasons Washington, D.C. Clerc is the former General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Chicago and the Four Seasons Punta Mita.

Simon Rusconi heads to Paris to take over as General Manager at the Hotel Prince de Galles for Starwood. For the past four years, he had been overseeing the St. Regis Atlanta. He previously served as General Manager of the Sheraton Hotel Tahiti and the Sheraton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa in French Polynesia.

Michelle Devlin has been named General Manager at Egerton House in London. She is a former Deputy General Manager with Red Carnation Hotels.

Jens Hallman has moved as General Manager to the Radisson Blu Cardiff. He was most recently the General Manager of the Radisson Blu London Stansted Airport. Hallman is the former Executive Assistant Manager at the Park Inn Heathrow.

Kurt Wagner has been named General Manager at the Kameha Grand Bonn , taking over from Thomas Kleber. Wagner is the former Director of the Grand Hotel Schloss Bensberg.

The Alpina Gstaad has named Martin Hohn Executive Assistant Manager Food and Beverage. Hohn had previously held food and beverage management positions with the Amari Watergate Hotel Bangkok, and the Amari Palm Reef Resort, Koh Samui.

Lorna O'Neill has been appointed Director of Public Relations at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House. She is the former Public Relations Manager at the Hilton Sydney.

Andreas Schiffer has joined the Kempinski Hotel Dukes' Palace in Bruges as Executive Chef. He is a former Executive Chef with Seabourn Cruises.

Taking over from Michal Dedera as Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons London, Canary Wharf is Nico Hallwass. He was most recently in Miami at the Hotel Victor as General Manager. He had previously served in rooms positions for Thompson Hotels.

ASIA AND THE PACIFIC

The Peninsula Beijing has named Joseph Sampermans General Manager, taking over from Donald Harrington. Sampermans was most recently Hotel Manager of the Peninsula Hong Kong. He is the former Director of Food and Beverage at the Peninsula Bangkok.

Eric Piatti has returned to the Swissôtel Nai Lert Park in Bangkok to take the post of General Manager, having previously served as Executive Assistant Manager. Piatti takes over from Torsten Pinter, who became General Manager at the Swissôtel Zürich. The Lausanne graduate was most recently the General Manager for the Fairmont Towers, Heliopolis in Cairo.

Anshul Kaul has joined the Oberoi Rajvilas in Jaipur as General Manager. He was most recently with the Regent Singapore as Director of Food and Beverage. He was previously the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the former Four Seasons Aviara.

David Sosner is now in Hawaii as General Manager for the Kauai Beach Resort. He is the former General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Cairo Palm Hills and Director of Residences for the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel & Spa.

Tina Sim is now overseeing the Traders Hotel Singapore. She was previously in a similar post at the Fullerton Singapore.

Vincent Macquet has been named General Manager of the Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa. He is the former Director of Operations at the Hilton Adelaide.

Frank Grassmann has been named General Manager at Soneva Kiri in Thailand. He is the former General Manager at the Evason Phuket & Bon Island.

Fiji's Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort has named Mark Slimmer General Manager. Slimmer is the former General Manager at the Angsana Great Barrier Reef and the Matson Resort Cairns, both in Australia.

Marc Landgraf has moved to oversee the management and operations of the Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort and Spa, soon to be an Outrigger. He was most recently the General Manager of the Cape Panwa Hotel & Spa in Phuket.

Jorge Monje has been named General Manager at the Metropolitan Bangkok. He is the former General Manager at Uma Paro, Bhutan and Karma Kandara.

Chris Adams has been appointed General Manager of the Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort and Villas. He was previously the General Manager of the Anantara Golden Triangle.

Ersev Demiroz has been appointed Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons Jakarta replacing Andrew De Brito, who left the company. Demiroz was previously the Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons Riyadh, Kingdom Center and Director of Rooms at the Four Season Sharm El Sheikh and the Four Seasons Doha.

Claudio Togo has joined the Mulia Bali as Director of Operations. He was most recently overseeing rooms for the St. Regis Monarch Beach. He is the former Director of Rooms Division at the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.

Andrew De Brito returns to Shanghai this time with the Mandarin Oriental Shanghai as Director of Food and Beverage. He had previously served in the same position for the Four Seasons Shanghai before taking on his most recent role as Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons Jakarta.

Agus Sutanto has been promoted to Director of Food and Beverage at the St. Regis Bali. He has been with the hotel since 2008 in food and beverage positions, most recently as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage.

Philippe Langlois has moved to the American Club in Hong Kong as Director of Food and Beverage. He had been serving in food and beverage posts for the InterContinental Hong Kong since 2005. He had previously overseen The Blue Door in the Delano Miami and Café Boulud in Palm Beach.

Nicolas Kurban has joined the Crown Melbourne to oversee food and beverage. He was most recently with the Borgata in Atlantic City as Vice President Food and Beverage.

Anthony Yeung has been appointed Director of Marketing at the Four Seasons Shanghai. He was most recently overseeing sales and marketing at the Grand Hyatt Guangzhou.

Frank Lonardo has been named Director of Sales for the Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu. He is the former Director of Sales and Marketing for Le Parc Suites Hotel in West Hollywood.

Floria Wun has been appointed Director of Public Relations for the Langham Hospitality Group. She is the former Director of Public Relations for the Ritz-Carlton Beijing.

Martin Knaubert has moved to the Four Seasons Beijing as Executive Chef. He was most recently in the same position at the Four Seasons Shanghai. He is the former Executive Chef of the Four Seasons Damascus.

David Ansted has moved as Executive Chef to the St. Regis Singapore. He was most recently serving as Executive Chef at the American Club Singapore. He is the former Executive Chef at the Shangri-La Taipei, the Shangri-La New Delhi and the Shangri-La Changchun.

Darrell O'Neill has been named Executive Chef at the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur. He was most recently the Executive Chef at the One&Only Reethi Rah.

Roland Hofmann has been named Executive Chef for the Shangri-la Rasa Ria Resort in Malaysia. He is the former Executive Chef of the Shangri-La Manzhouli and the Kerry Centre Hotel, Beijing.

Dietmar Spitzer is now in Bangkok as Executive Chef for the Marriott Sukhumvit. He was most recently in the same role for the Ritz-Carlton Shanghai Pudong. He is the former Executive Chef at the Conrad Bangkok and the Repulse Bay, Hong Kong.

Marco Medaglia takes over as Chef for Angelini Italian Restaurant in the Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong. He was most recently with the Aqua Restaurant Group, where he served as Italian Executive Chef for three years.
 
MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA

Patrick Robineau has moved to Atlantis The Palm in Dubai as Vice President of Food and Beverage. For the past two years, he had been in a similar post at the Four Seasons Las Vegas. He is the former Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh.

Imran Changezi has joined the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai as Hotel Manager. He was most recently serving as pre-opening Hotel Manager at the Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel.

Andrey Kuzin has been named Chief Financial Officer of AZIMUT Hotels. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer for the Nezavisimost Group.

The Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh has named Adrian Messerli Director of Food and Beverage. The Lausanne graduate had previously overseen food and beverage for the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon and the Four Seasons Carmelo.

The Four Seasons Seychelles has named Brice Delclos Food and Beverage Director. Since 2003, he had been overseeing food and beverage at the Four Seasons Provence at Terre Blanche.

Mövenpick Hotels has promoted Craig Cochrane Senior Vice President Human Resources. He was most recently serving the company as Vice President of Human Resources, Middle East and Asia. He had previously served in human resources positions for the Jumeirah Group in Dubai and in Shanghai.

Jeff Guillory is the new pre-opening Director of Sales and Marketing for the Delano Marrakech. He had previously overseen sales and marketing at the W Hollywood, the Millenium Biltmore and the InterContinental Miami.

Andreas Haugg is the new Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Cairo at Nile Plaza. He has been with the company since 1998, serving in the kitchens at the Four Seasons Berlin, Four Seasons London and both the Four Seasons Maldives at Kuda Huraa and the Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giravaru. He was most recently the Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Mauritius.

Thierry Papillier takes over from Andreas Haugg as Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Mauritius. He was most recently in Haugg's new position as Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Cairo at Nile Plaza. He is the former Executive Sous Chef at the Nile Hilton.

David Higgs has joined the Saxon in Johannesburg as Executive Chef. He is the former Chef at Rust en Vrede and the Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel.

Terry Styles has moved as pre-opening Executive Chef to the Conrad Dubai. He was most recently in the same position for the Mövenpick Dubai. He is the former Executive Chef at the Mövenpick Resort and Spa Cebu and Executive Sous Chef at Atlantis The Palm.

The Four Seasons Cairo at Nile Plaza has promoted Yasmine El Gawhary to Director of Rooms. She helped open the hotel in 2004 as Administrative Assistant and most recently served as Assistant Director of Rooms.
