One of the biggest misconceptions about social media is that it's free; I think in the push for business adoption, it was presented as a free or low-cost promotional option.
Not true.

Social media will cost you. Time and money.
Oh, and just because social media will cost you something doesn't mean it's not worth taking part.
Even if it were the most costly communications channel we had, it would still be worth using.
Let's just set expectations right from the start.
