Manutailers A New Concept For Stimulating The Economy.
By Jerome Cedicci & Robin Trehan
Wednesday, 13th February 2008

Chicago is definitely among the world's most popular destinations.  Every year millions of people visit the city for business and pleasure.

However, in order to come out ahead when vying for the tourist and business traveler dollar, Chicago must always be on the cutting edge.  Staying competitive with cities like New York and Los Angeles – not to mention global destinations like Tokyo and London - means always being open to exploring and implementing new concepts.

One way Chicago could attract even more business and interest is by adding a unique and modern attraction that would make it a destination of choice for travelers worldwide.  A new concept called a manutailer, coupled with a hotel, would fit the bill perfectly.

The manutailer concept is becoming increasingly more popular, but many people are still unfamiliar with it.  The word "manutailer" refers to a facility where several manufacturers of similar or related products come together to sell their products directly to the customer.

Manutailers have proved very successful for manufacturers of consumer goods such as home décor items.  Consumers find the idea of buying directly from the manufacturer and cutting out the middleman very appealing because they get a much better deal.

Shoppers also love being able to comparison shop without having to run around from place to place.  Wasting time and energy going from mall to mall - especially if you are visiting from out of town and unfamiliar with the area – is not a very attractive prospect.

The manutailer experience, on the other hand, is enjoyable and relaxing.  Shoppers get to spend time in a pleasant and interesting environment that is completely devoted to the item or items they're looking to purchase.

Pairing a manutailer with an upscale hotel would give Chicago just the boost it needs to differentiate itself from other cities.  Even repeat visitors would be intrigued and want to check out this exciting new destination.

The project would attract and retain interest from the media as well as online.  Word would spread quickly.  More and more people would want to experience the manutailer concept for themselves.

The hotel and manutailer together would create a wonderful synergy that would be a win win for the city of Chicago.  Each of them would benefit from the publicity and exposure generated by the other.

Hotel guests who might not have planned to make shopping a part of their trip would be very likely to do so once they become aware of how close they are to such a unique experience.

Travelers planning vacations would be more likely to choose Chicago if they knew they could stay in a nice hotel with convenient access to a world class shopping destination.

By adding a hotel/manutailer complex to its existing attractions, Chicago could greatly increase its appeal.  The local economy and business scene would benefit in a myriad of ways.
