What will be the hotel room of the future?

Accorhotels has made an interactive hotel room timeline inspired by the last century’s evolutions, travel through time with a hotel room and immerse yourself in the Roaring Twenties or in the modern style the future may bring.

To every era its own style, to every style its own room.

General Data Protection Regulation takes effect soon: Hotels be ready.

The EU General Data Protection Regulation is coming, it will take effect from 25 May 2018 and hotels need to create a plan to be ready for it; Start your hotel’s GDPR preparation now, and get your data in order.

Most companies have big gaps between AI ambition and execution.

More than three-quarters of business executives expect artificial intelligence (AI) to create competitive advantage or new lines of business for their companies, but only about one in five companies has incorporated artificial intelligence in some offerings or processes today, and only one in 20 companies has extensively incorporated AI into its current offerings or processes.

Measuring and Incentivizing Front Desk and Reservations Upselling.
Chances are that like most hoteliers this time of year you are busy formulating your financial game plan for 2018; If so, I’m pretty sure your owners or asset managers are looking for more revenue, as all owners seem to do every year and with occupancies performing well in most markets, unless you are planning to build more hotel rooms the only way to squeeze out more revenue is to increase ADR.

Implementing a front desk and reservations upselling program, or improving the one already in place, can help your hotel achieve its revenue goals.

An Analysis Of Franchise Fees.
In the current market environment of modest growth in revenue, hotel owners and operators are paying extra attention to their operating expenses.

One expense that management has less control over are franchise fees. Most of the fees charged by the franchising companies (brands) are assessed as a percent of a source of revenue. Therefore, owners and operators have mixed emotions when franchise-related costs rise. After all, if you are paying more franchise fees, then it is likely that your property’s revenue is also on the rise.
