Hotel market update on Taiwan.

With increasing strained relations between Beijing and Taipei, Taiwan has been reducing its dependency on mainland China by improving its tourism relationships with other countries.

Though the number of Mainland Chinese visitors fell dramatically, the number of visitor arrivals to Taiwan decreased only modestly in the second quarter of 2017 to 2.6 million. Visa exemptions to Southeast Asian visitors, improved air connectivity, and promotions around the country’s tourist spots have expanded the scope and diversity of Taiwan’s tourism economy.

TRYP brand debuts in Dubai.

Global property developer The First Group has taken possession of its second hotel property, TRYP by Wyndham Dubai, marking another significant milestone in its portfolio development strategy, celebrates the opening of its second upscale hotel in Dubai, heralding the debut of the TRYP brand in the emirate.

Asia Pacific destinations dominate travel on Airbnb between June to August 2017.

Hospitality is an intrinsic part of Asian cultures and it’s no secret that travellers from around the world want to immerse themselves in these diverse communities, that’s why, nine out of the top 16 trending destinations globally on Airbnb between June and August, were in Asia Pacific countries. China led the top three cities to visit.

In addition, curious Asia Pacific travellers have also been busy exploring global neighbourhoods, with 7.5 million guest arrivals hailing from Asia Pacific.
