Sedona is first in Myanmar to achieve Green Globe Certification.

Sedona Hotel Yangon and Sedona Hotel Mandalay lauded for promoting environmentally sustainable tourism.

Sedona Hotels International continues to set benchmarks with its quality portfolio as Sedona Hotel Yangon and Sedona Hotel Mandalay have become the first hotels in Myanmar to achieve the prestigious Green Globe Certification.

Both hotels had to undergo a rigorous certification process involving on-site audits by an independent Green Globe accredited assessor.

Key environmental indicators include energy and water consumption, total waste production and community involvement.

Sedona Hotel Yangon (image 1) and Sedona Hotel Mandalay's (image 2) strong commitment to environmentally sustainable operations have also led the Myanmar Tourism Promotion Board to present both hotels the Myanmar Green Hotel Standard 2010 and 2011 awards. 

Mr Vincent Tan, Senior Vice President of Sedona Hotels International said "We are pleased that Sedona is the first hotel brand in Myanmar to be Green Globe-certified and to be recognised by the local government through the Myanmar Green Hotel status.
