Winners of the Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific Merger & Acquisition Deal of the Year, Reggie Shiu Development of the Year, and Sustainable Hotel Awards were announced at the 21st annual HICAP.

HICAP is hosted by BHN, Horwath HTL, and Stiles Capital Events.

Niseko Village Japan was the winner of the HICAP Merger & Acquisition Deal of the Year Award. In the spring of this year, Malaysia's YTL Hotels and Properties acquired the stunning Niseko Village destination resort - inclusive of two hotels, totaling 706 rooms, two 18-hole golf courses, the adjacent ski mountain and 461 hectares of freehold land from Citigroup Principal Investments for US$66 million - a very small fraction of the original cost basis.

Finalists included Four Points by Sheraton in Sydney, Australia and Ibis Singapore on Bencoolen in Singapore.

Marina Bay Sands in Singapore was the winner of the Reggie Shiu Development of the Year Award. This iconic 2,561 room property is part of a USD 6 billion integrated resort complex forming the focal point of Singapore's emerging Marina Bay district as a world class business, convention and leisure destination. The hotel supports 120,000 sqm of exhibition/convention/meeting space, 74,000 sqm of retail space, a casino featuring up to 1,000 gaming tables and 1,400 slot machines and is topped off with a breathtaking 1 hectare sky terrace, home to the longest elevated swimming pool with a 146 meter infinity edge.

Finalists included the Doubletree by Hilton in Kuala Lumpur and The Upper House in Hong Kong.

Winners of HICAP's Sustainable Hotel Awards included: ITC Royal Gardenia Bangalore for Sustainable Project Design; Crowne Plaza Alice Springs for Sustainable Operations; El Nido Resorts for Sustainable Destination; and Shangri-La Wuhan for Sustainable Communities.

The Sustainable Hotel Awards recognize hotels in the Asia Pacific region demonstrating exemplary sustainable best practices.
