Marc Charron, Managing Director of TripAdvisor Asia Pacific has recently moved to Singapore to set up the regional office for TripAdvisor, to complement the already existing teams in China, Japan and India.
He will now be responsible for the world's largest travel website in the world's fastest growing region.
There is no doubt about it, the technological landscape is changing very fast and Marc has seen a lot of these changes in the past 4.5 years since he joined TripAdvisor, which itself is only 10 years old.
And a key aspect of this change is that you cannot really rest on your laurels, for change is accelerating at a maddening pace and you can suddenly find yourself left out of the game altogether.

Till recently, the focus of TripAdvisor was mostly on Europe, a continent that in terms of revenue and audience reach provided a tremendous engine for growth.
Seeing what they've accomplished in Europe, and learning from some of their mistakes there, the focus has now shifted to Asia where the investment is based on future expectations given that there is a significant growth potential.
