Turkish Airlines Hong Kong launched Flying Chef, a new feature in its in-flight catering service.

Beginning 15 October 2010, Turkish Airlines chefs will be aboard flights between Hong Kong and Istanbul, enhancing the culinary experiences of business and first class passengers.

Introduced by Turkish DO & CO, Turkish Airlines' catering company, chefs will present the in-flight menu to business and first class passengers, and share with them the inspirations behind the types of cuisine served and ingredients used in each course.

Launched on Turkish Airlines' Istanbul-New York flights earlier this year, this service is now being extended to international flights including those between Hong Kong and Istanbul.

"We designed this catering concept with a high-quality, customer-oriented experience in mind," said Mr. Huseyin Ceyhan, Director of Turkish Airlines Hong Kong. "This additional feature shows our strong commitment to constantly bringing fresh experiences to our customers and maintaining the excellent quality of our award-winning catering service."

Turkish Airlines won the 2010 SKYTRAX World Airline Awards for Best Onboard Catering – Economy Class and was also named Best Airline – Southern Europe.

In 2007, the airline entered a joint venture with Turkish DO & CO, an international gourmet entertainment company with a rich portfolio of international clients including British Museum and BMW World in Munich. Turkish DO & CO now operates nine gourmet kitchens in Turkey and is responsible for in-flight catering for over 60 national and international airlines.
