As part of its continuing global initiatives to promote and market Dubai as a business and leisure destination, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing participated in the 2010 edition of Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meeting Expo (AIME) in the Australian city of Melbourne recently.

Dubai stand size at the 18th edition of the AIME measured 180 square metres and shared by 15 co-participants from public and private sectors from the emirate's expanding tourism industry.

The Dubai delegation at the AIME-2010 was headed by Mr. Nayef Ibrahim, Head of Region, Australia & Asia at DTCM's Overseas Promotions and Inward Missions Department.

The Dubai Stand at the two-day travel and tourism trade show was the cynosure of all eyes.

AIME is one of the largest exhibitions, showcasing a wide range of products and services from all parts of Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

The DTCM Director of Overseas Promotions and Inward Missions, Mr. Saleh Al Geziry, said: "Australia is an important source market for Dubai's fast-growing tourism industry with year-on-year growth in visitors, both business and leisure. Our participation in the AIME-2010 provided the tourism industry stakeholders with a platform to network with Australian tourism and travel industry professionals and expected to increase our share in this most promising market."
