Mövenpick Dream Castle Hotel, the first Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts (MH&R) facility in France, is under construction at Disneyland® Resort Paris. The Swiss hotel group has signed a contract with the leaseholders, Thomas Cook AG and Dertour, for management of the 400-room hotel, scheduled to open in June 2004 and targeting predominantly German-speaking clientele.
With over 13.1 million guests in 2002, Disneyland® Resort Paris is the largest tourist destination in Europe, and the hotels already in place enjoy record occupancy. It is within this outstanding environment that Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts will take over the management of a new hotel, inspired by middle-ages castles and their mysteries. The hotel is a joint project of Euro Disney S.C.A., Dertour and Thomas Cook AG, which, as leaseholders, will also take over its marketing together with MH&R, especially in German-speaking markets.
The four-star family-friendly hotel will offer 400 rooms, two restaurants and an outdoor terrace restaurant with high-quality Mövenpick cuisine as well as a lobby bar, conference rooms, child-friendly facilities, fun swimming pool, fitness/Wellness area and a garden overlooking a lake. Free shuttle buses bring guests in just a few minutes to the Disney® Parks entrances. The new Mövenpick Hotel will enjoy excellent transport connections by RER express train, rail (TGV, Eurostar, Thalys), road or plane.
"MH&R has been present in the German-speaking markets for a long time and benefits from a very well-known brand", said Stefan Flury, senior vice president Europe, MH&R. Jean Gabriel Pérès, president & CEO MH&R, adds: "As a Disneyland® Resort Paris Selected Hotel, the Mövenpick Dream Castle Hotel will offer to its guests the true conviviality MH&R is known for. The opening of this hotel in June 2004 provides an excellent platform for establishing MH&R in France. ".
Dominique Cocquet, executive vice president, Euro Disney SCA, declares: "With the Mövenpick Dream Castle Hotel opening in Spring 2004, the total accomodation capacity of Disneyland® Resort Paris will be close to 8,000 hotels rooms and tourism residences, with 1,500 hotel rooms in the new hotel district of Val de France. Such new developments underline once again the vitality of our site, and its capacity for growth in new hotel accommodations along with the opening of our second theme park, The Walt Disney Studios® Park. This new Selected Hotel Disneyland® Resort Paris represents a major breakthrough for our presence in German-speaking countries thanks to the association of Dertour, Thomas Cook AG, and MH&R as foremost actors in these markets". |
