Singapore GP Pte Ltd has reappointed Pelican System, a central hotel reservation system provider, to offer packages via the website, the official 2009 FORMULA 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix website.

Pelican System will work with hotels and other hospitality partners to offer complete hotel packages, race tickets and private airport arrival / departure transfer and make these available online.

"This service will enhance the total online experience for customers wishing to book tickets and accommodation in Singapore at the same time, offering a complete package for the convenience of racing fans," said Michael Roche, Executive Director of Singapore GP Pte Ltd.

All reservations will be confirmed real-time and handled by the hotels directly to ensure a smoother booking process.

Pelican System, with its proven track record of clients from 36 countries, will provide a complete end-to-end solution for all hotel reservation needs including marketing to hotels to encourage participation, set-up, user training and maintenance.

"Hotels who participate in the service will also be able to benefit from the convenience. The system provides instant confirmation capability and allows the hoteliers to generate a fully customisable reservation report to track the room inventory status," said Hartono Liman, Managing Director of Pelican System.

Pelican System will also provide an extranet for participating hotels so they can adjust rates and allotment to maximize their revenue potential. The reservation report comes complete with rooming lists to track room inventory status and even alerts hoteliers when the room inventory reaches a pre-set minimum threshold.

The hotel package reservation system will be up on www.singaporegp.sg by early April 2009.
