Hungary's first green conference center has been open for six months.
The zero-emission center is situated in Szentendre, has a capacity of 200 guests, and has been successfully operating since July, 2008.
Hungary's first conference center with zero carbon-dioxide emissions can be found in Szentendre, a picturesque little town close to Budapest built on the banks of the Danube.

Built as a brownfield investment, what makes the REC Conference Center unique is the fact that it is optimally capable of operating with a long-term zero energy balance.
The ambitious target of zero annual average CO2 emissions is made possible by the simultaneous use of specific design techniques, automated systems and renewable sources of energy, including solar power.
The REC (Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe) – an international organisation with a mission to promote sustainable development and the protection of our environment – and its partners will make use of the new building in several ways.
Besides being a conference venue, capable to accommodate events up to 200 participants, the REC Conference Center will function as a demonstration and information center, and a climate change resource as well.
