Australia's Queensland tourism authorities are expecting bookings to drop by a third in 2009 but the controversial Australian holiday resort White Cockatoo is currently inundated with inquiries and the website blocked due to excess traffic.
The White Cockatoo resort in Mossman tropical north Queensland will be holding a month-long, nude "anything goes" party in March aimed at combating the global credit crunch.
In the past the controversial resort has banned partner-swapping but Tony Fox, the owner of the resort said he was lifting the self-imposed ban as "tough economic times call for stiff measures".
"It will be a hedonism resort, where anything goes for a month. It doesn't take rocket science to work out what it means," Mr Fox said.
The town Mayor, Val Schier, has said she is not opposed to the month of hedonism but local church authorities do express concern.
One thing is for sure, people in tropical north Queensland can be described as extraordinarily creative!
