Hospitality security in Dubai.

Hot topics reviewed at a meeting this week included tourist security, hotel violation of regulations and activites that take place that offen the values and culture of Dubai.

Officials of the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and Dubai Police held a meeting at the DTCM Head Office to discuss a wide range of issues concerning the tourist security, violation of regulations by hotel establishments and containing actions that violates the values and culture of the country.

The meeting was attended by the DTCM Director General, Mr. Khalid A bin Sulayem, Brigadier Khamis Al Muzinah, Director of Dubai Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID), DTCM Executive Director Operations and Marketing, Mr. Mohammed Khamis bin Hareb, DTCM Executive Director Media Relations and Business Development, Mr. Eyad Ali Abdul Rahman, DTCM Executive Director Licensing and Classification, Mr. Khalid bin Touq, DTCM Director Inspections and Tourism Permits, Mr. Mohammed Khalifa, Dubai Police Tourist Security Department Director,  Lt.Col Mohammed bin Sareeh, and Mr. Butti Al Falasi, Director of Dubai Police Media Department.

Brigadier Khamis highlighted the role and initiatives of Dubai Police and the strategy on crime prevention, tourist security and public order. He said the Tourist Security Department was set up with the aim of taking care of tourists and tourist groups. This department seeks to provide utmost security to tourists as the Government of Dubai considers tourism as one of the pillars of the economy.

Mr. bin Sulayem underscored the need for greater coordination between the tourism organizations and Dubai Police to ensure higher level of satisfaction among the tourists. He praised the work of Dubai Police concerning the tourism industry, especially at hotel establishments, and containing the vices that contradicts the Emirati culture and Islamic values.
