Maybourne Hotel Group, the ultra luxury hotel group which manages Claridge's, the Connaught and the Berkeley, is delighted to announce news from the acclaimed hotels.
Claridge's
Claridge's, the art deco jewel of Mayfair and London's most glamorous hotel is introducing a Water Menu to accommodate the tastes and preferences for their discerning international clientele. This is not simply a list of waters. A great deal of research and thought went into the development of the Water Menu, and each item has tasting notes.
One has a sweet taste and is the perfect accompaniment to salad, another distinctively soft and pairs well with salad, another variety is said to be a favorite of the Pope's. All of the waters are categorized by their place of origin whether it be "British Water", "European Water" or "World Water".
There are 30 brands in total, with prices ranging from £2.80 for Tau to £21.00 for 84cl of 420 Volcanic which is sourced from a spring at the bottom of an extinct volcano in New Zealand and bubbles to the surface through 200 meters of age old volcanic rock. Claridge's Water Menu will be available for its guests to choose from starting November. There is of course one more choice to add – a glass or jug of old fashioned London tap water, which of course any guest is welcome to at any time, free of charge.
While enjoying a glass of artisanal water, guests should be sure to check out Claridge's latest suites designed by Lord David Linley. Named the legacy designer for Claridge's, Linley has created eleven new suites that both respect the old traditions and styles of the hotel, while bringing in a fresh new feeling; his Art Deco suites come in warm robin's egg blue, rich creams and deep chocolates, the Traditional suites feature bright reds and vibrant yellows.
He has also skillfully combined these two designs to create two Hybrid suites - each with a living room in one design and the bedroom in the other. Cleverly, the Hybrid suites quite literally sit astride of the dividing line of Claridge's - its two halves with their unique style, the Art Deco and the Traditional - and create a bridge of sorts, combining the hotel's two famous motifs.
The Connaught
Beginning this Spring 2008, The Connaught, the cherished gem of Mayfair, will once again be welcoming guests. The Connaught has been closed for an ambitious, historic, multi-million dollar restoration. The work taking place in this London landmark hotel will include a magnificent redesign of the guestrooms, suites and interiors.
Maybourne Hotel Group has put this significant undertaking in the hands of the world-renowned designers Guy Oliver and interior design team Sills Huniford and has charged them with the task of bringing the Mayfair gem into the 21st century while preserving the authentic elegance and distinct personality so beloved of its guests.
For generations, The Connaught has been the choice for discerning international travelers because of the warmth and intimacy of its service and its sumptuous quarters. As one of the world's most distinguished addresses, The Connaught restoration, and especially its redesigned rooms and interiors, will establish the hotel as London's most luxurious destination
The Berkeley
The Berkeley, Knightsbridge's most fashionable hotel, has just unveiled their Winter 2008 Prêt-A-Portea Collection. Always at the forefront of fashion, The Berkeley has created the incredibly successful "Fashionista's Tea" which features the season's latest fashions in delectable bite-sized goodies.
This season highlights an orange Hermes Kelly bag, an Yves Saint Laurent sharp smoking jacket with chocolate sable, a Zac Posen dark purple macaroon with chocolate and passion fruit ganache and an outrageous Christian Dior redcurrant mousse and grenadine jelly with pink spun sugar and high heeled Dior shoe, among others. Served on Paul Smith china with Baccarat crystal, this is truly the most fashionable tea in town.
This winter, guests should also be sure to experience the best in beauty at The Berkeley, with their sumptuous ‘The Beauty Bureau by Smythson' – the most exclusive and luxurious grooming service around. The Beauty Bureau has been created to ensure that guests are never left stranded without looking their absolute best!
Elegantly housed in a Smythson Peacock Blue leather vanity case, it is the answer to every beauty addict's nightmare - getting ready for that important evening out only to find they have left behind their favorite mascara, blusher or moisturizer.
The Berkeley has compiled the top 20 most needed ‘Hero' beauty products that come to the rescue during any beauty emergency. While containing everything a woman could need - from Guerlains's Issima Midnight Secret to Yves Saint Laurent Touché Eclat to Crème de la Mer lip balm and Philosophy's Hope in a Jar, it also caters to men, offering grooming products to sooth shaving rash. Particular care has been taken to include lotions and potions that counteract the stresses of travel including dehydration and the tell tale signs of little or no sleep. Perfect for those who travel on the New York red eye!
In addition to all of the exciting news at each property, Maybourne Hotel Group is delighted to announce a very special holiday promotion with Hamley's Toy Store in London. "A Family Christmas" is currently available at both The Berkeley and Claridge's, through December 24th, and offers families the opportunity to have two rooms at the hotels for the price of one.
As though a visit to The Berkeley and Claridge's was not enough to excite the children, "A Family Christmas" will also include tickets for the children to have breakfast with Father Christmas at Hamleys Toy Store. While off playing in the toy store, Mom and Dad can enjoy a leisurely English breakfast to themselves and just to make sure the adults have as much fun as the kids, they will also be treated with a bottle of champagne upon arrival!
