England's top business destinations feature in a new campaign aimed at encouraging more British businesses - to host their meetings, conferences and events in their own country.

The new 32-page Meet the Cities guide and accompanying microsite www.meetengland.com/meetthecities produced by VisitBritain's Meet England team profiles a wealth of new and innovative ideas for organising conferences, meetings and incentives with a twist.

Destinations featured include Bournemouth, Brighton, Chester, Doncaster, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, NewcastleGateshead, Norwich and Sheffield.

Sarah Woodford, Meet England manager, says:

"Business visits and events are a vital part of England's £70 billion visitor economy. The capital continues to rival Vienna, Frankfurt and New York as the best place to do business and we want to remind Britain's business community to think of London as well as other leading English cities first when they are planning their meetings, conferences and incentive trips. Meet the Cities demonstrates the very best of what they offer for business event organisers."

Meeting planners visiting the site www.meetengland.com/meetthecities can select a city, discover its meeting facilities and full contact details by using the dedicated Google map facility which allows visitors to view venues, train stations and featured restaurants.

The site also offers a free brochure download facility.

The campaign, which has been developed with the help of industry insiders in each of the destinations, provides itinerary suggestions for those looking to develop delegate social programmes and highlights the best places to relax and ‘network' after-hours.

It gives details of quality assessed accommodation for those business travellers who are inspired to mix business with pleasure and discover the destination on a leisure break.
