The JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa is the first Hawaii resort and among the first in the US, to adopt the PURE(TM) allergy-friendly environment.

All of the hotel's 13 guestrooms and Presidential Suite on its 17th (top) floor have been converted to the system, and indoor meeting facilities and the Ihilani Spa will be converted by the end of the year.

Guests can now choose to enjoy their next Hawaii vacation in a PURE(TM) allergy-friendly guestroom by calling the resort reservations.

By providing allergy-friendly hotel rooms and conference spaces, we offer guests the benefit of a healthy, more productive environment," said Steve Glen, general manager of JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa. "We are now exceeding expectations with the ultimate allergy-friendly room environment."

The PURE(TM) system minimizes irritants from all room surfaces and filters the air. "Bedding, carpeting, walls, furniture and air conditioning are specially treated to remove contaminants," said Glen.

Air conditioners are deep cleaned, sanitized and then equipped with a patented Tea Tree Oil Cartridge, an all natural antiseptic and disinfectant. Soft surfaces are cleansed and sanitized with a bacteriostatic barrier.

A state-of-the-art air purification system maintains air quality that averages four times cleaner than the threshold for asthma patients. In addition, special, micro-fiber hypoallergenic pillowcases and mattress covers eliminate dust, dander and dust-mite related allergens usually associated with bedding.

The special purification technique is a one-of-a-kind cleansing and maintenance process developed by Pure Solutions, North America.

"It's a credit to the JW Marriott Ihilani that they are extending this convenience to their Hawaii resort guests," said Brian Brault, Pure's chief executive officer. "They are on the leading edge of the resort industry wellness trend."

A Cornell University study found that 83% of travelers with allergy problems say they would prefer to stay in 'pure rooms'. And, 81% of people who did not have allergies said they, too, would prefer an allergy-free room.

"Allergy-friendly rooms are part of our overall focus on health and wellness at the JW Marriott Resort & Spa," said Glen. "We want our guests to leave feeling truly rejuvenated by the experience."
