InterContinental The Red Sea Resort is among the first to open on Shura Island – a destination which, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 ambitions, is setting a new global benchmark in luxury tourism.

The 210-room resort, set within pristine waters, vibrant coral reefs, and protected marine ecosystems, combines unmatched natural beauty with visionary, sustainable development. Offering guests an immersive sense of exclusivity and escapism, bold coral inspired architecture, cultural authenticity and intuitive service combine on Saudi Arabia’s compelling coastline.

“The opening of InterContinental The Red Sea Resort marks the beginning of a new chapter for guests to explore the Red Sea’s extraordinary beauty,” said Francesco Pantalone, General Manager. Reflecting on the milestone, Pantalone stated that through its refined design, bespoke experiences, and enduring spirit of discovery, InterContinental The Red Sea Resort seeks to deliver extraordinary experiences and timeless memories for our guests.

Design Excellence and Sustainable Commitment

The resort’s LEED BD+C Platinum Certified design – conceived by Foster + Partners with interiors by Kristina Zanic Consultants – blends contemporary architecture with the island’s natural surroundings to demonstrate the highest global standard for sustainability. Curved facades, organic textures, and Saudi artworks fuse to create an atmosphere of quiet elegance that underscores the resort’s dedication to environmental stewardship from the ground up.

For the modern luxury traveller

InterContinental The Red Sea Resort is a testament to the global evolution of InterContinental, which is reimagining the luxury travel experience for today’s modern luxury traveler. Its aim is to strike a harmonious balance between freedom and familiarity.

Each one of the resort’s guest rooms and suites – ranging from 50 sqm King and Twin Rooms to the spacious Red Sea Three-Bedroom Suite – is designed to ensure every guest can find restoration and rest within rooms, but also rejuvenation and focus. Crafted in collaboration with neuroscience-based designer, Isabelle Sjövall, this new design direction for InterContinental recognizes key elements that influence the way we respond to environment, such as tones, textures, and lighting, as well as our connection to nature and biophilia.

Guests will also have complimentary access to the latest circadian science through the brand’s global partnership with Timeshifter – a NASA utilised app which provides guests with a personalised jet lag mitigation plan to reduce the physical and mental impacts of time zone changes. This means guests can arrive ready to experience all that InterContinental The Red Sea Resort has to offer.

Guests seeking an enhanced level of service can utilize Club InterContinental, which provides private check-in, and exclusive amenities. Whilst for younger guests, InterContinental’s signature children’s and teens club, Planet Trekkers, offers marine-inspired activities and supervised outdoor adventures such as a climbing wall, energetic workshop & multi-level fun and a splash park.

Meanwhile, The SPA InterContinental offers adults a haven of stillness where beneath open-air wellbeing domes the sun energizes, the sea calms and the sand bring balance. Here, soothing rituals, hydrotherapy treatments, tailored massages and mindful yoga are designed to respond to and restore the modern luxury traveller.

Cultural Connections and Insider Access

Opening doors to a ‘world of fascination’, InterContinental is dedicated to those who appreciate travel and the cultured state of mind it brings, the wonder of fascinating places and fresh perspectives. The evolution of InterContinental is driven by the brand’s long held belief in the power of travel to expand the mind and connect cultures.

InterContinental colleagues serve as cultural connectors, helping guests embrace and explore cities and local neighbourhoods in over 70 countries where its hotels and resorts reside. Bringing to life the Insider Expertise of InterContinental The Red Sea Resort is The Concierge, on hand to facilitate cultural exploration by introducing guests to in-the-know discoveries and bespoke experiences such as sailing, cycling expeditions, and diving among the world’s most vibrant coral reefs.

Global gastronomy, local flavour

InterContinental The Red Sea Resort offers a rich gastronomic journey blending global inspiration with deep local roots.

As a pioneer in modern Arabic cuisine, the acclaimed Chef Feras honors Levantine traditions and Phoenician heritage, through menus of seasonal, locally sourced ingredients served across three signature restaurants: Darein (Levantine-Moroccan spice routes), Ardo (South American fire and flair with bold sharing plates), and Chimes (sun-kissed Mediterranean tapas). Dishes are simultaneously nostalgic and refreshingly modern.

A centerpiece of the resort's pastry program, led by Chef Raamin, is Murrma, a contemporary dessert parlor inspired by the surrounding mangroves, transforming nature and Chef’s personal memory into edible art. Drawing on his Levantine roots and Parisian experience, Chef Raamin presents modern multi-sensory interpretations of familiar childhood treats and classic pastries, exemplified by his signature Apple Cinnamon Vanilla Spiral Donut.

The resort's dining collection will further expand in early 2026 with the additional Ardo, a South American eatery, and The 305, a Miami-inspired restaurant and cigar lounge.

InterContinental The Red Sea Resort joins a global portfolio of over 235 InterContinental hotels found in over 70 countries in every corner of the globe. The resort also represents IHG’s seventh luxury property in the western region. It joins Six Senses Southern Dunes and InterContinental Jeddah, and precedes Regent Jeddah and Six Senses Amaala, which in the coming years will also join IHG’s leading Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio, now one of the world's largest.
