Oxford Street, long the heart of Sydney’s cultural and creative life, is entering a bold new chapter and the opening of 25hours Hotel The Olympia marks the rebirth of one of the city’s most iconic addresses.

transforming the heritage-listed site of the former West Olympia Theatre and Grand Pacific Blue Room into a vibrant new destination where culture, connection and curiosity converge.

Bringing its playful, design-led spirit to Australia for the first time, 25hours Hotels has reimagined the space as a celebration of Sydney’s diversity.

The Olympia sits at the intersection of Paddington, Surry Hills, Darlinghurst and Kings Cross, neighbourhoods synonymous with art, fashion, nightlife and LGBTQIA+ pride. Every detail reflects the area’s creative heritage and inclusive energy, from collaborations with local artists to a design that invites spontaneity and storytelling.

The design celebrates Oxford Street’s layered history while embracing its creative future. Set within the former West Olympia Theatre, the hotel blends heritage details with contemporary design, creating spaces that feel both authentic and alive. Bold colours, eclectic art and tactile materials mirror the neighbourhood’s vibrant personality, while a sense of play and discovery runs through every corner. It is a space that honours the past yet looks confidently ahead, just like Oxford Street itself.

Beyond its 161 rooms, 25hours Hotel The Olympia is a gathering place for locals and travellers alike. Three new dining and drinking experiences, each concept created by Ennismore’s Food and Beverage team, bring fresh culinary energy to the area, offering everything from laid-back bites to lively late-night encounters.

More than a hotel, The Olympia is a tribute to its past, a reflection of its present and an invitation to be part of its future. With creativity at its core and community at its centre, this is a new era for one of Sydney’s most storied streets.
