Another rough week for the region as Typhoon Bualoi kills over 50 in Vietnam and causes flash flooding in Hanoi, Laos and Northern Thailand.

Meanwhile, Cebu was rocked by a 6.9 earthquake, killing 72 and displacing 70k. Tomorrow, Typhoon Matmo is set to reach Vietnam, adding further misery to the past weeks of heavy rainfall.

Ahead of Budget 2026, the Malaysian tourism industry gets vocal on additional financial incentives required to support Visit Malaysia 2026.

Indonesia rolls out tax relief for tourism workers earning up to $610 USD per month, from Oct-Dec 2025 - but hotels say that whilst welcomed, the move isn't enough.

Thailand's Atta calls for a bigger budget to be allocated to the tourism industry, with incentives for charter flights and MICE groups.

Potentially game-changing Indian route opens for Manila-Delhi, whilst IndiGo's Kolkata-Siem Reap is announced. IndiGo is also said to be expressing an interest in opening routes to Thailand's secondary cities, which would only be a boost for Thailand - India is one of the few source markets which is seeing positive growth from Jan-Sep 2025, +15% YoY vs the overall -8% YoY gloom.
