The world of luxury is dynamic; it’s constantly evolving, so we must adapt and elevate our brand with the times.
At Mandarin Oriental, we are committed to bringing exceptional experiences to our discerning guests. It has been that way since the very beginning, and it is a core part of our ten-year strategy. It is why we have committed over $200 million to transform our two founding hotels: The Mandarin in Hong Kong and The Oriental in Bangkok.
This investment reflects our strong, long-term confidence in both cities, in our exceptional colleagues, and in the enduring strength of the Mandarin Oriental brand. As a global leader in luxury hospitality, we’re constantly elevating our brand to ensure we continue to be sought after and loved by future generations.
As we approach Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok’s 150th anniversary and, for Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, mark more than six decades at the heart of Hong Kong’s Central district, the time was right. With this investment, I am confident we will continue to exceed our guests’ expectations while maintaining our place in the hearts of loyal local and international visitors in both cities.

What do these investments entail? In Bangkok, this transformation is a celebration of Thai elegance and artistry. From the Garden and Authors' Wings to our flagship dining spaces, every detail reflects our dedication to craftsmanship. We are honoured to welcome the world’s most Michelin-starred female chef, Anne-Sophie Pic, to Le Normandie, alongside new concepts by Chef Alex Dilling, Chef Fei, and Chef Pom, each of whom brings a unique vision of culinary excellence rooted in local culture.
Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong's new room design by DESIGNWILKES
In Hong Kong, our upcoming renovation is equally ambitious. From guestrooms to the Spa, from new long-stay apartments to the transformation of our beloved Clipper Lounge, every space has been reimagined with purpose. We are thrilled to introduce a new rooftop dining destination led by Chef Daniel Boulud, bringing his celebrated French cuisine to Hong Kong for the first time, and the unique Omakase Pizza concept by Chef Daniele Cason from Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo.
Importantly, these investments are guided by our dual Asian heritage, blending the grace and service of The Oriental with the pioneering spirit of The Mandarin. We are building on that legacy with the guest at the centre of every decision we make.
To our colleagues: this is an important milestone in our journey together. Thank you for your excellence, your care, and your commitment.
To our partners and guests: we look forward to welcoming you into the next chapter of these legendary hotels.
I have always said that luxury is about creating timeless experiences. What remains unchanged is our promise, to surprise and delight, with authenticity at the heart of every experience.
