Johnson Controls joins World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance to revolutionise energy-positive hotels

Known globally for its leadership in smart, healthy, and sustainable building solutions, Johnson Controls joins a leading group of over 100 members and partners committed to tackling the most pressing environmental and social challenges of our time.

The Alliance is a coalition uniting hospitality companies and strategic partners to drive innovative solutions that promote a responsible and sustainable hospitality sector. Its broad reach includes over 55,000 hotels across 300 brands, these industry leaders are working towards Net Positive Hospitality, a vision that Johnson Controls is set to significantly advance.

Johnson Controls brings expertise in building technologies that target the nearly 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions stemming from buildings. With a workforce of over 100,000 employees across 150 countries, the company is poised to enhance operational efficiency, cut energy costs, and propel the hospitality industry towards ambitious net carbon and energy positive goals. Their innovative Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) financing model allows hospitality businesses to adopt sustainable solutions without hefty upfront investments, turning sustainability into a strategic advantage.

Katie McGinty, Chief Sustainability Officer at Johnson Controls, emphasises the dual benefits of sustainability: "Embracing sustainability isn't just a responsibility; it's a transformative strategy.
