The Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), the world’s largest alliance of independent hotel brands including Minor Hotels, marks the first anniversary of the Green Collection.

The Green Collection helps GHA DISCOVERY’s 26 million members make responsible travel decisions by identifying hotels, resorts and palaces that are mindful of the environment and their respective ecosystems.

Launched in March 2023, the Green Collection has grown to over 200 hotels and resorts operated by GHA member brands that share a commitment to protecting people and the planet. Inclusion in the collection requires hotels and resorts to demonstrate tangible sustainability initiatives that enable more resilient and sustainable tourism.

Every Green Collection property has attained at least one globally recognised certification for its sustainability performance, including Green Growth 2050, EarthCheck, Green Key, Green Globe and Green Seal.

Anantara Chiang Mai Resort is the 20th Minor-operated property to earn Green Growth 2050 Platinum Certification

Over 120 hotels and resorts from Minor Hotels’ eight brands – Anantara, Avani, Elewana, NH, NH Collection, nhow, Oaks and Tivoli – are part of the Green Collection and account for more than half of the collection today. Some of the Minor Hotels properties in the Green Collection include:

Anantara Golden Triangle Jungle Bubbles

Perched on a ridge in the northern hills of Thailand overlooking the borders with Myanmar and Laos, Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort immerses guests in unforgettable journeys. The resort is home to an award-winning elephant camp and conservation programme and provides guests with the opportunity to observe the gentle giants in their natural habitat through its signature Jungle Bubble experience.

Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort

Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort offers picture-perfect beaches, stylish villas and pavilions and world-class diving straight out of guests’ wildest dreams. Located on the western edge of the Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, guests can experience once-in-a-lifetime sea encounters with dolphins in the lagoon and snorkelling with manta rays at nearby Hanifaru Bay.

NH Collection Dubai The Palm

Situated in the popular Palm West Beach, NH Collection Dubai The Palm provides a beachside retreat with great access to explore the city. The hotel introduced Dubai’s first vegan-friendly hotel rooms, featuring a range of amenities completely free from animal-derived ingredients and are never tested on animals, as well as bedding and dry amenities crafted from sustainable materials.

A Commitment to Caring for our Planet and its People

Minor Hotels is conscious of the linkage between the company’s success and the well-being of society and the environment. In 2022, Minor announced its commitment to become a net-zero organisation by 2050 and set intermediate goals to reduce its environmental footprint. Minor Hotels is a responsible member of the communities where we operate by actively promoting local conservation efforts and supporting sustainable tourism.

The hotel group was recently recognised by S&P Global as the top-performing hotel operator in its Sustainability Yearbook 2024, demonstrating its commitment to making travel more environmentally and socially responsible. The 20th Minor Hotels property also earned the prestigious Green Growth 2050 Platinum Certification, which requires a score of at least 90% across more than 450 sustainability indicators set by the Green Growth 2050 Global Standard.
