Starting from 14 February 2024, every international tourist travelling to Bali will be required to pay a tax contributing to the preservation of Bali’s culture and natural environment.
The official website, Love Bali, advises travellers to make the payment of RP150,000 (US$9.60) per person, before their arrival in Bali to facilitate a smoother travel process.
How to pay the tourism levy:
- Visit Love Bali’s website or download the app: Go to https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id or download the Love Bali App from Playstore or Appstore.
- Enter information and payment: Provide passport number, name, email, and arrival date, then choose the payment method.
- Receive levy voucher: The levy voucher will be sent to the submitted email address.
- Scan voucher at checkpoints: Present the levy voucher for scanning at checkpoints.

According to a document issued by the Governor of Bali , this international tourist levy will not only be used to implement sustainable initiatives but also to improve the quality of Bali’s services and facilities, such as:
- Better tourism management in Bali.
- Maintaining the culture and traditions of Bali.
- Cleaning up the environment to preserve its beauty.
- Improving the cleanliness, orderliness, convenience, and safety in Bali.
- Enhancing the infrastructure and facilities of public transportation.
- Improving Bali cultural tourism information service.
- Disaster management services.
