Accor announced the signing of the first TRIBE NATION hotel in China, bringing a fresh, new urban lifestyle hospitality experience to modern and Gen Z Chinese travelers.

Through a partnership with Guiyang Chengnan Investment and Development Company Ltd, TRIBE NATION Guiyang South will open in January 2025.

The new 136-room TRIBE NATION hotel will offer an artfully curated, design driven, and locally connected guest experience. Guiyang’s vibrant cultural scene and powerful economic hub will provide intellectual energy and opportunities for guests to connect, socialize, and explore the many attractions of the region.

“We believe TRIBE NATION will quickly establish a leadership position among the Chinese lifestyle hospitality sector and we are proud to make the exciting city of Guiyang the brand’s first destination in China,” said Gary Rosen, CEO, Accor Greater China. “TRIBE NATION is designed to surprise travelers with an original and creative type of hospitality that redefines the hotel experience and amplifies style. With an abundance of welcoming spaces for connecting with friends, clients or locals, TRIBE NATION Guiyang South will be a hotel that is as stylish as it is smart.”

TRIBE NATION Guiyang South is in Huaxi District, a National All-For-One Tourism Zone in the southern part of Guiyang, about 30 kilometers from the Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport. Famous for its abundant natural resources, beautiful weather, and relaxed lifestyle, Guiyang is a popular tourist and leisure destination, as well as an important hub for business.

The nearby Gui’an New Zone is a new development attracting information technology companies, big-data, e-commerce, and the healthcare sector. Some of the top companies in the area include Apple, Huawei, and Tencent. Also in the vicinity are the ASEAN Conference Center, Guizhou University, Guizhou National University, as well as numerous scenic tourist areas such as Shilihetan National Urban Wetland Park, Huaxi National City Wetland Park, Tianhetan Scenic Zone, and Qingyan Ancient Town.

“We are very pleased to partner with Accor to bring the new lifestyle experience of TRIBE NATION to China, particularly with the first property in the thriving area of Guiyang,” said Xie Fangyuan, General Manager, Guiyang Chengnan Investment and Development Co. Ltd. “TRIBE NATION is a brand that is cleverly designed to appeal to a new generation of travelers in China, with a flexible design model, stylish yet functional spaces, and a guest-centric focus that perfectly aligns with the tempo and energy of Southwest China.”

TRIBE NATION Guiyang South will be designed as a vibrant creative hub where guests can relax among a like-minded community of locals and travelers. The hotel will feature eco-friendly amenities and polished living spaces complemented by iconic design elements, contrasting colours, and surprising details that appeal to modern sensibilities.

The Social Hub at the heart of the hotel will include a lobby lounge area offering barista drinks and light refreshments, along with flexible spaces for work or social interaction. The hotel will also offer an all-day dining restaurant and a Chinese restaurant, for authentic, simple, and fresh fare. Guests will enjoy a well-equipped gym and swimming pool, with meetings and function spaces available for celebrations or conferences.

Globally, 50 TRIBE hotels are underway, with up to 100 addresses expected to open over the next five years, including Bangkok, Phuket, Manila, and Singapore. Currently, TRIBE welcomes visitors to its destinations in Paris, London, Amsterdam, Perth, Bali, and most recently, Phnom Penh.
