Meliá Hotels International is thrilled to announce the signing of a ground-breaking agreement with Guangzhou Aocheng Investment Company Ltd.

This collaboration will mark a significant milestone for Meliá's iconic ME by Meliá brand as it makes its highly anticipated debut in the Asia Pacific region. Set to open its doors in 2027, ME Guangzhou will undoubtedly become the ultimate destination for discerning travellers seeking an extraordinary experience in the vibrant city of Guangzhou.

ME by Meliá, renowned for its exceptional design and unparalleled lifestyle offerings, represents the epitome of contemporary European culture. With its distinctive collection of design hotels, ME by Meliá invites guests to embark on a journey of creative exploration and cultural immersion. From captivating art exhibitions to tantalizing signature cocktails, the ME brand redefines the concept of luxury hospitality, allowing guests to forge a deep connection with their chosen destination in the most extraordinary and imaginative ways.

Located at Guangzhou Macau Place, within the Guangzhou International Financial City-Huangpu Bay Business Circle, ME Guangzhou boasts a prime location that is poised to become the second central business district (CBD) of Guangzhou. The region is currently experiencing rapid progress with the commencement of the construction of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Express Rail Link next year, which aims to strengthen the connection between key cities in southern China including Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong. In addition, the forthcoming Yuzhu Tunnel will augment this endeavour by connecting Pazhou Economic Development Zone and Yuzhu Port, contributing to the development of the business circle to a world-class landmark.

Furthermore, the hotel offers breath-taking views of the Pearl River while also offering proximity to Guangzhou's iconic landmarks, such as the Dan Jia Watery Region and Former Site of Huangpu Military Academy. By perfectly blending the city's rich heritage and contemporary charm, ME Guangzhou will become the definitive address for sophisticated travellers seeking an authentic and unforgettable experience.

Envisioned as a sanctuary of indulgence and refinement, ME Guangzhou will feature 120 exquisitely appointed rooms and suites, each meticulously designed to offer a luxurious haven for guests. Impeccable personalized services will ensure that every aspect of a guest's stay is tailored to their desires, guaranteeing an unparalleled level of comfort and satisfaction. Moreover, the hotel will boast a diverse array of dining options, including an all-day dining restaurant, specialty venues showcasing culinary excellence, a Mediterranean-style bistro, and an iconic rooftop bar. These exceptional culinary experiences will tantalize the senses and further enrich the overall guest journey.

The property will also feature state-of-the-art facilities to cater to the needs of both business and leisure travellers. The hotel's versatile event spaces, including ballrooms and meeting rooms, will offer the perfect setting for special occasions and corporate gatherings. A rejuvenating spa and a well-equipped fitness centre will provide guests with the opportunity to unwind and rejuvenate. Beyond being merely a hotel, as a testament to its commitment to contemporary culture, ME Guangzhou will also curate a sensory feast of cultural and artistic experiences. By intertwining avant-garde art, design, fashion and music, the hotel allows guests to explore the boundaries of creativity and indulge in a world of artistic discovery.

Ignacio Martín, Managing Director Asia Pacific at Meliá Hotels International, expressed his enthusiasm about the arrival of ME by Meliá in the Asia Pacific region, stating, "The signing of ME Guangzhou represents a glorious chapter for our brand. "The agreement with Meliá Hotels International represents a significant step towards elevating the Guangzhou International Financial City-Huangpu Bay Business Circle to a world-class landmark business district. The business circle is expected to attract more foreign investments, augment its international commercial and trading functions, and establish itself as an integrated gateway", said He Jinglin, the Managing Director of Guangzhou Aocheng Investment Company Ltd. "The emergence of this business circle is a clear indication of the Macau Centre's capability to undertake international cooperation and comply with global standards".

ME by Meliá has taken the world by storm with its rapid expansion and exceptional luxury offerings. Currently, the brand boasts a remarkable presence across the globe, captivating travellers in some of the most prestigious destinations like London, Barcelona, Madrid, Ibiza, Dubai, etc.

Revisiting the history of its iconic building designed entirely by Foster and Partners, ME London celebrated this year its 10th anniversary commemorating a decade of bringing creativity and innovation into London's cultural epicentre.

In addition to the ME Guangzhou, the ME by Meliá brand will open at least three more hotels in 2023 and 2024 in Malaga (Spain), Malta, and Guadalajara (Mexico), extending the footprint of a collection of designer hotels. From vibrant city centres to exotic beachfront retreats, the brand's properties offer guests unrivalled access to the best each destination has to offer.
