Wyndham adds TRYP by Wyndham and Wyndham brands to Taiwan portfolio

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has bolstered its portfolio of hotels with the opening of two properties in Taiwan, TRYP by Wyndham New Taipei Linkou has been opened in partnership with Qingyu Property, while Wyndham Sun Moon Lake has been launched in partnership with Lijing Enterprise.

The openings mark the debut of each brand in Taiwan.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts senior vice-president and chief development officer for Greater China Bill Wang said: “With the strong recovery of business and leisure travel across Asia Pacific, China-Taiwan continues to be a top destination for travellers from around the world and we’re excited by the immense growth opportunity ahead of us.

“By bringing two of our recognisable and trustworthy brands to the region, we’re fulfilling our mission of making hotel travel possible with options guests know and trust, while also bringing opportunity to owners who can capitalise on the strong demand in the region.”

Located in Taipei, TRYP by Wyndham New Taipei Linkou offers 85 guestrooms, each featuring a range of amenities such as a balcony, a minibar and a welcome gift.

The amenities provided at the property include a gym, meeting and event venues, free Wi-Fi and parking, two restaurants, on-site car rental and a local shuttle service.

It is a 20-minute drive from Taoyuan International Airport.

Wyndham Sun Moon Lake (above), nestled in Yuchi Township at the base of Taiwan’s Central Mountain Range, offers 197 guestrooms along with diverse room layouts.

The hotel features private hot spring pools, a spa, two restaurants, two bars, a wellness centre, a fitness facility, a pool, as well as a children’s play area.

It also hosts events such as business gatherings, weddings and celebrations at its banquet hall, which can accommodate up to 400 guests.

Guests at the property can visit nearby attractions such as the Nine Frogs Stack, Wenwu Temple and Sun Moon Lake Ropeway.

The hotel is presently in its soft opening phase, with all facilities expected to be fully operational by early 2024.

Currently, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has 9,100 hotels across 95 countries worldwide.
