Two of them will open this December, with the remaining 12 still in the pipeline however he will not be there at all.

Ramsay has licensed his name only but, according to our sources, is not involved in the menu and operations.

Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant group has announced plans to open 14 venues in Thailand over the coming years in a partnership with Tanachira Group—a Thailand-based lifestyle and retail brand. Two of them will launch in December at the soon-to-be-completed Emsphere mega-mall in Phrom Phong.

The remaining 12 venues are confirmed to also be in Thailand but the dates of those openings, and what kind of restaurants they will be, are yet to be made public.

The two venues launching at Emsphere in December are Bread Street Kitchen & Bar and Street Pizza, part of the group’s casual dining line-up.

Bread Street Kitchen & Bar focuses largely on classic British dishes like beef Wellington, fish and chips, and specific Gordon-branded specials like macaroni cheese and sticky toffee pudding.

Street Pizza, which was recently featured by viral food challenge YouTuber BeardMeatsFood, specializes in a bottomless pizza concept—one price for as much pizza as you can eat over two hours, if BeardMeatsFood’s appearance is representative of most locations. Here, it’s more of a sports bar vibe with easygoing pizzas, wings, craft beers, cocktails, and big TV screens to watch sports. The chain also includes a mobile app that lets users collect points and buy swag.

Gordon Ramsay is not the first high-profile British chef to attempt an expansion into Thailand. In 2015, Jamie Oliver, a well-documented chef nemesis of Ramsay, launched his Jamie’s Italian restaurant chain in Siam Discovery. That venue was eventually rebranded to Jamie Oliver Kitchen after a muted response to the first concept. Then, in 2020, that restaurant failed and closed permanently. (source)
