KOP Group acquires the Burns Hotel in London
Singaporean real estate firm KOP Group has acquired the three-star, 105-room Burns Hotel in Earls Court, West London, UK, from an undisclosed seller. The property was offered at a guide price of £35 million and is believed to have traded for £30 million (£286,000 per room). The hotel is made up of five interconnected townhouses and was recently operated under the Best Western brand as the Best Western Burns Hotel Kensington. The property is set to be the first UK location for KOP’s luxury hotel brand, Montigo Resorts, after an extensive renovation. This acquisition follows KOP’s purchase of the 28-room Charlton House Hotel & Spa in Somerset, UK, earlier this year. The founders of KOP Group previously owned and were involved in the revival of 10 Trinity Square, which houses the Four Seasons Hotel Ten Trinity London, and the boutique Cranley Hotel in South Kensington, London, among other UK projects.

Alting sells the Hotel Pedralbes in Barcelona to local family office
Barcelona based real estate group Alting has sold the three-star, 30-room Hotel Pedralbes in Barcelona, Spain, to an unidentified Catalan family office, for a reported €9 million (€300,000 per room. The property is located in the west of Barcelona, in the vicinity of the Camp Nou football stadium, around 1 km north of Avenida Diagonal. Alting acquired the hotel for approximately €4 million in an insolvency situation in January 2017, and then carried out extensive renovation works totalling some €2 million. A lease was signed with German group Limehouse in 2022, who will continue to operate the hotel. The yield on the acquisition is reportedly around 5.5%.

Raspberry Group acquires two Best Western hotels in The Netherlands
Dutch hotel group Raspberry Group has acquired the three-star, 45-room Best Western Hotel The Hague and the three-star, 64-room Best Western City Hotel Woerden, both in The Netherlands, for an undisclosed price. The Best Western Hotel The Hague is located in the embassy neighbourhood between The Hague city-centre and Scheveningen seaside pier, and the Best Western City Hotel Woerden is situated close to the city of Utrecht. The group already owns several Best Western properties across the Netherlands.

Leasowe Castle Hotel near Liverpool, UK, sold out of administration
Accounting firm Mazars, the administrators of Lawson Hotels Limited, have sold the three-star, 47-room Leasowe Castle Hotel to an undisclosed buyer. Located on the Wirral peninsula’s seafront in Moreton near Liverpool in the north of England, the 16th century grade II-listed hotel includes a bar, restaurant and banquet facilities, with a licence to hold wedding ceremonies on-site. The hotel will be operated by the new owner, with all previous staff retained. The property was acquired in 2021 by Zlatko Andrejic, an Australian national who lives in Serbia and who was the sole director of Lawton Hotels.
