As peak travel season approaches and travelers begin to plan their summer vacations, a new survey offers plenty of insights on the top trending destinations for 2023 with 61% of travelers are flocking to Europe.
According to data collected by VisitorsCoverage:
61% of travelers have planned trips to Europe
- This summer, Europe is the number one destination with travelers heading to top destinations including the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Sweden, Belgium and Austria. 18% of these travelers are headed to Switzerland, known for its mountains, cheese and chocolate.
13% of travelers have planned trips to North America
- 11% of these travelers are taking trips to see all that Canada has to offer. From scenic views to maple syrup, Canadian travel is flourishing.
11% of travelers have planned trips to Asia
- We expect a surge in tourism in Indonesia this summer, likely due to the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup,one of the world’s most popular sporting events.
8% of travelers have planned trips to South America
- Argentina is in high demand as travelers are likely interested in experiencing the snow-capped mountains of Patagonia, alongside the vibrant city life in Buenos Aires, not to mention the delicious Argentinian food scene.
3% of travelers have planned trips to Australia and Oceania
- This summer, travelers are taking interest in Australia and Oceania, which are perfect for exploring nature through marine and wildlife.
3% of travelers have planned trips to the Caribbean
- The Caribbean is a staple summer travel destination. With white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, the Caribbean attracts tourists from around the world for sunshine-filled vacations.
3% of travelers have planned trip to Africa
- With Africa’s rich landscape and 54 countries, travelers can explore all the natural beauty this continent has to offer this summer, from safaris to hikes, waterfalls, and everything in between.
As exciting as this demand for summer travel is, it also makes it more likely that travelers may experience trip disruptions and cancellations.
