PPHE acquires The Londra & Cargill Hotel, Rome from the De Romanis family

London-listed PPHE Hotel Group has acquired The Londra & Cargill Hotel in Rome from members of the De Romanis family for a purchase price of €34.5 million (€342,000 per room). The historic, four-star hotel marks PPHE’s entrance into the Italian market. The hotel, situated in Rome’s city centre, close to Villa Borghese and just minutes from some of the city’s main attractions, features 101 guest rooms and suites, a restaurant, bar, meeting facilities and private parking. The property is currently planned to be repositioned and relaunched in early 2023 as an upper upscale lifestyle hotel.

Conker Dawn acquires Welcombe Hotel in Stratford-Upon-Avon from Vivion

Hotel investment vehicle Conker Dawn has acquired the 91-bedroom Welcombe Hotel in Stratford-Upon-Avon from Vivion Hotels, for an undisclosed sum. The grade-ll listed golf and spa hotel is Conker’s third UK hotel acquisition in three months, following its acquisition in September of the 297-bedroom Hampton by Hilton Waterloo and 143-bedroom Doubletree by Hilton York, first reported in our Newsletter for the week ending 17 September 2021. The four-star property, which is set to undergo significant investment under new ownership, will be managed by M&T, who are the exclusive operating partner for Conker Dawn.

AM Alpha acquires the Moxy Lille City, France

Munich based family office AM Alpha has acquired the 127-bedroom Moxy Lille City for an undisclosed sum. The three-star lifestyle property, which opened in October 2020, occupies a historic landmark building that once housed the University of Lille’s faculty of medicine and pharmacy. Located in the heart of Lille, in walking distance to several of the city’s main attractions, the hotel is currently leased to Walk Hospitality, a French hotel manager currently operating a further three Marriott-branded assets, which include the aloft in Rennes, Moxy La Ciotat and a Residence Inn in Toulouse.
